If I looked at the source for OpenRPG and hobbled together enough AI to follow the party and fight things, would you allow it in your game?
Ah, I hadn't noticed a question being asked. My apologies.
And my answer is . . . I don't have any clue? I have no experience with OpenRPG whatsoever, really. As such, I wouldn't know how such a 'bot would work, but I almost doubt that I would allow it anyway. I prefer to have game with flesh and blood.
Hell, in the end, I'd prefer it if we could all meet face to face for this game, but IRC or this OpenRPG thing is going to have to suffice under the circumstances.

I'm willing to play any system people are throwing out.
For the DnD game I think I could go for a monk fighting class.
For Shadow run maybe one of those hermetic mages.
I can also DM Starwars 3e, DnD 3e (don't have point 5), WoD(all systems save demon), Aeon(all three), 7th Sea, and Cyberpunk 2020
Though structure might be good maybe throwing up a list with each game and the players signing up.
currently my days flux, but since I'm essencially unemployed right now (aside from freelancing/temp work) I can pretty much make any scheduale.

I'm also willing to GM D&D3.5 and d20 modern. However, If I manage to DM D&D, I'd prefer my game be separate from Jim's.

I guess, if we count phact, we might have enough.

really Open RPG is like a chat client with features that allow you to see character sheets, maps, and dice rolling. Bots created for it would work in the same what that they would work for an IRC bot, or any other chat based system. that is by keywords. and thats really not enough to really have a bot as part of the game.
plus the bot would act up in game.. and the fun of Role-playing is actually playing the game.

Yes I see. At first glance ORPG seemed more map-driven. I thought if it could interact with movement and battles in a purely mathematical fashion, I could swing it.
Human interaction takes all the fun out of learning to program.

As soon as I get to feeling a bit better (been rather blah the past few days) I'll go back through this thread and try to sort out what's what. If we do indeed still have enough players, I'll start trying to get together with folks and start makin' characters. Once we've got characters, I'll start makin' the game . . . I've already got an idea, just wanna make sure the mechanics will work with the PCs that're rolled up.

Hey, I got an IRC bot called "Bone Guardian".
So now we won't have to rely on Orion's mIRC bot if we have to use IRC.
It's on FilePlanet.
...or you can PM me your e-mail address, and I'll e-mail it to you.

Hey, watch where you're goin'!
Aaaanyway, got a list done up for the D&D game, finally.
-----
GameMaster - Jim North - anytime (with possible exceptions of Sunday & Monday)
System - Dungeons & Dragons 3.5E
Exclusions - Psionics, Forgotten Realms feats/magic.
House Rules - Special stat rolling system (supervised by GM), fast and loose rules lawyering.
Players (in alphabetical order)
DarkMagician - Whisper Gnome Cleric of Sheyanna Flaxenstrand - see below
orion - ??? Magician (type undecided) - ???
phactorri - ??? Monk - anytime
trinket90 - ??? Rogue -
free times
-----
It's rather incomplete, as you can see, but at least we seem to have enough players. We just need to fill in some of the blanks, and I can start getting with people so we can roll up your characters. I believe trinket90 said he'd be fine with whatever class was left, I believe, so I suppose you'll be taking Rogue, then, neh?

If I get a solid internet connection back anytime soon I'll be up for a DnD 3.5 or Shadowrun game. I have the 3.5 player's handbook, and I'm familiar with SR. But, like I said, if I get a solid internet connection back. Right now mine's still down at home. I'm visiting my mom and using hers at the time of this posting.

Eventually. First . . . what alignment do y'all want the game to be? I can do a good, evil, otherwise, or whatever else game ya might want.

I tend to deal best with a "good" game, although I'm not married to it.

Yeah, I'd go for a 'good' game. I feel guilty even if the people I'm being mean to don't really exist.

Well, if I can get a definate call on my internet status (and if there's room) I can do either. I'm generally good by nature, but I can easily play an evil character if need be.

I'm favoring good over evil, myself.
