seems to be an update logjam - currently 4400+ waiting for update (up from 3500+ six hours ago). just thought i'd mention it in case those who need to know didn't know...

Shame on all those who update on a Saturday!

As of right now, the logjam is up tio 4807. Nice. I can blame the late update on the server!

It stops me from updating new tutorial!

When I went to update the queue was at 2. This morning I got PMs saying my comic hadn't updated and I checked the queue and it was at 4500 (That was a few hours ago though)

I feel sorry for my contest winner. The Suspence must be killing the people who entered and are eagerly awaiting to find out who won.

Nope.

Waited 24 hours for my OnlineComics.net button and Fantasy Exchange to appear on my site. I might get rid of Fantasy Exchange since it's more of a free ad for DrowTales then an exchange network.

Drowtales is a really popular fantasy comic based on a couple of 'gasp', drows. They have a banner ad system called Fantasy Exchange, much like other exchange networks, only this one focuses on fantasy webcomics.

Now I can put on 'comic fatbeard' hat (despite the lack of beard or fat) and tell you my opinion on the comic, but I won't. I could write a book on what's wrong with the comic from the artwork to it's web page design.

At least my OnlineComics.net listing isn't too bad, although one or two people said "OMG, WHY DO YOU MAKE COMICS MeANT FOR PRINT INSTEAD OF BROWSER". How ironic that one person on OC.net who posted that comment uses shockwave for his comics and each page is at least 600kb

I read that comment. It confused the heck out of me. What did that guy mean by saying your comic was "meant for print/not browser friendly"? O_o The way your comic is set up is no different from how most other webcomics are set...

Whats the problem with Drows? They are sort of like dark elves or something right? I have been out of the whole D&D Fantasy Community for like 20 years or something, so I may have missed a few things.

Drows are dark elves that live underground worshipping some spider demon goddess thing.

Gygax I think originally invented the buggers and at the time they were really badass. If you met ONE drow, it meant trouble and a shitload of trouble. This was years ago when drows were nothing more then a powerful NPC to kill. I think spiders were chosen because Gygax said something like "what lurks in the dark, underground, and can kill you silently?"

Now drows are nothing but whiny little goth elves writing shitty angst poetry (as opposed to their lighter counterpart, who just write shitty poetry). I'm not a huge expert on the subject, but apparently each noble family has some sort of rank and women are dominent gender. The way the drow work are superficial at best. One thing about being a writer is you need to be a good liar; meaning that things need to be somewhat logical for it to be believable. Any sociologist or intelligent reader knows the Drow society would never work (and it isn't even that evil)

I find the whole concept really queer from a writer's view because its just a sign of laziness. White elves good, black elves bad...um, not only does this give some sort of subtle sign of racism symbolism BS, but instead of giving a PLOT as to why their a bad or giving conflict, the writer just places down the drow and say "OMG, BLAACK ELLLF. MURRRDEER."

Because we all know that killing black people is the morale of every fantasy story.

Let's not forgot that there is that one author, who I cannot recall, made a scene involving an orgy of drow inside a temple. Nothing says evil like an orgy, eh Ghastly?

P.S: Don't read Drowtales unless you want to see the world's worst action scenes and sound effects. Let's not forgot the names of characters with the only way to pronounce them is by squeezing your balls with a nutcracker. I could go on and on but...I'll think I'll stop. [/i]
