So I'm back from CN-Anime/Comics/Scifi/Horror Expo in Toronto and I gotta say I had an absolute blast. I had no idea I had so darn many readers in the Toronto Area. Sold tonnes of prints (Drunk and Bitter Jesus prints were hugely popular). Made a whole bunch of new readers including a bunch of professional comic industry folks who were there as guests and dropped by on the second and third days to tell me just how much they loved my webcomic. Woohoo! Gotta love reviews like that. I was also interviewed by a few newspaper guys and over all I really got my comic noticed by a lot of people.

Another fringe benefit was a lot of people who read my comic for the first time at the convention came back and asked me about how to get started as a webcomic so I was able to plug away for Keenspace. I should have gotten Chris to send me some cards or flyers for Keenspace and Keenspot while I was there. Didn't think of it until after I got all these questions about starting a webcomic.

What a hoot, what a hoot. So very much fun and the celebrity treatment from my fans made me feel like a superstar. Yepper, my ego is well and fully stroked to satisfaction, baby!

Sounds like a lot of fun. One day I'll really have to go to a convention, since now I know they actually have them up here in Toronto.

Or would it be fair to say your ego was fluffed?

Well fluffed indeed.

Here is the complete Ghastly's Ghastly CNX Report for those interested in a more indepth account of the goings-on at the convention.

One thing I forgot to mention was the hour long blackout that occured at the convention on Sunday. It was fun.

Things to have before leaving any con:
Unmentionable memorabilia--check.
At least 2 action figures with 2*1000+d20 points of articulation--check.
Comics you're ashamed to own--check.
More memorabilia--check.
Ghastly's left kidney--. . .check.

Aww you had a camera with you? I shoulda got a picture with good ol' uncle Ghastly.
Though I did end up with a print of Drunk and Bitter Jesus, and that's almost as good. :D

Indeedily do. I should have taken a picture with the lovely young Pimpette who I got to meet at the convention. Saddly I often forget to take pictures of things when I have a camera with me.

Sleep deprivation was making me none-too-bright as well. I did not get much sleep during the con.

Conventions are great. Tonnes of fans wanting your autograph and to talk to you really really makes your penis feel big.

One person asking for my autograph usually does that...

*does the con* I'm going to the ECTS Conferencetoday - That's like the poor man's E3 (games trade expo) in Europe.

However there's also another 4 game industry cons running in the same city at the same time!; EGN (European Games Network), EDN (European Developers Network), Game Star Live (some huge customer orientated game con), ECTS (Electronic Conference Trade Show. Possibly) and GDC (Game Developers Conference - Depressing as heck)! They run for the same 3 days too, how on earth am I supposed to go to all of them?! Will all the game people be spread out over all the cons? Will attendence at any one con be similar to the opening night of Jerry Springer - The Musical? O___o Who knows the answers to these questions? Me! Later today! Probably.
