Woah, this is some very cool stuff. :D Thank you tons. I'm on my pathetic 56k line at home; I'll work on the mural, send out payments, etcetera, when at work on Monday. I still have some of the $20 left for anyone who still wants to post a pic!

Fair enough.

But it's not a contest! I'm not judging any of the entries; they're all going into the mural.

My entry! I'm not going to worry if the money is no longer available...just being in the mural is enough for me. But, if you are going to send money, I'd prefer it by mail, I'll send you the info if you need it.

Tuesday updates:

Hejhox - paid via paypal
Vorticus - no payment requested.

Still working on the mural. I realized belatedly I now have over 2mb of image files, and probably should try to move some of the bigger ones to jpgs so people who don't have the blessing of bandwidth can still view the mural. :)

Keep 'em coming. And thanks tons to those who have submitted.

Updates!

Toxic Avenger - Sent your dollar via mail.
Axonite - Sent your dollar via mail.

Rpin - still gotta draw you something on your dollar first.
Supernerdcore - Gotta decide what to write on your dollar first.

Tim - Tim requested that I buy a lottery ticket with the dollar and if I win, donate some of the money towards getting people together for future cookouts. I'll buy the ticket tonight and post the numbers tomorrow. Drawing is saturday: http://www.molottery.com

Mr. Ekshin - Still need your info.

I'm still collecting pics for the mural - and still have some dollars left!

The mural is by no means complete, but you can see all the pics in one spot here: http://www.reasonedcognition.com/mural.html

IF we were complete strangers then I would agree; however we are a community and it seemed like we were more or less comfortable "around" each other, specially if you consider the amount of jibing that goes on in here. So dangling money around (regardless of the amount) is like saying "though I see you guys pretty much fall over each other to do fan/guest arts for pretty much everyone in these forums, for some reason I don't believe you'd be willing to afford me the same courtesy".

Like we are biased against you or something. And then you go and imply it AGAIN.
Faith is what credulity becomes when it finally achieves escape velocity from the constraints of terrestrial discourse- reasonableness, internal coherence, civility, and candor. Thus, the men who commited the atrocities of September 11 were neither cowards nor lunatics of any sort, but Men of Faith- perfect faith- and this, it must finally be acknowleged, is a terrible thing to be.

Dude, chill. Seriously.

The buck is (as has been pointed out) mostly symbolic. I've had people who didn't want the buck, wanted me to buy a candy bar with it, donate it to charity, draw on it, buy a lottery ticket with it, etcetera. Basically I'm saying, "The buck's yours if you want it, or if you want me to do something else with it, tell me and I'll do it if it isn't painful."

You already made your point earlier. If you don't want to participate, that's cool. No harm, no foul. But if it wouldn't be too much trouble, could you please stop assuming the worst about my intentions?

Well, normally, he'd have a point. Twenty pieces of fan art is a great deal and I wouldn't normally expect twenty pieces coming from a request like this sans money.

It's just that, well, it's ABOL. He's sort of pathetically easy to draw. Image

1$...
For me, is just enough to wake up the lazy/rebelious part that says "Dude, that would be _working_" (as opposed to drawing for fun), but not enough to wake the reasonable part that would say "But you'd get money for that! I'm sure you can work a bit for a big pile of money.".
You are the Non. You must go now, and never return."

"1.Scan in high res 2.tweak with curves, levels or something to clean up the scan (or use channel mixer to remove blue pencil lines) 3.Add colour using a layer set to multiply. 4.Add wordbubbles and text as vector shapes. 5. Merge all layers. 6.resize to the web size. 7. Export/Save for Web" that's all I know about webcomicking.

So wake up your mischevious side and say... Hm... I can make Ryan do nearly anything not-painful with that dollar. Then, draw Abol and make your strange, twisted request. :)

Who says you can't make money on a lunch break? My 5-minute MS Paint version of ABOL.

Istructions for dollar. Draw a handlebar mustache on Washington and photograph the bill in various unsavory locations of your choosing. Post photographs here.

Jeez.

... ok. :) But in the future, it aught to be a way to spend the dollar.

Hmm... I have some great ideas for the pics though...
