The way I see it, spotting spacers will pay up more to spot than looking for indie comics. Space already has a different audience than Spot as there's a lot of people who read mostly space comics and actually read nothing on spot. Or at least it was before they started spotting spacers.
Ditto for Ghastly, he would bring new readers to Spot. But then again, as we could see, there would be problems with advertisers and that is, logicaly, major concern for fab four. I mean, what good are readers if advertisers back up.
So, um, yeah... Why am I talking about this again?

How much damage would it actually do to Keenspot if they Spotted Ghastly? I mean, it's the friggin' Internet. If our moms were on it all the time, we wouldn't have any sort of webcomics.

My comic has a lot of nudity, profanity and lesbianism and my mom reads it just fine. So do my adopted moms in Fairbanks and my Anut Y. Not all mothers are againsts webcomics.

Guys, I don't think it's clever to bring this issue up again, given the fact that Keenspot and Ghastly just made peace.

Let's just say my guess is that the reasons why Ghastly was never Spotted go a little bit beyond the point of "no adult comics" policy.

burgandy: haha, that's true. I was thinking more along the lines of *my* mom :-? Sorry for the generalizations.

rpin: true, true. Policy is policy. You have to draw the line somewhere. Although it'd be cool if there was a more "off the beaten path" version of Keenspot.

It's like Late Nite Keen! Y'know, after all the kiddies have gone to bed, and the television stations show the shows that kids shouldn't watch or whatever.

Trust me gang, I'm much happier here than I would be at Spot. I get more money and I'm able to provide the promotional power of my comic to advance keenspace via the Newsbox. On top of all this, I'm able to offer advanced promotional services to my fellow webcomic artists at prices much cheaper than they'd be able to get through Keen.

I'm more than happy now running out my clock on Keenspace until Webcomics Nation is operational. It's working out great for all parties involved. Keen is getting money. I'm getting money. Spacers are getting my newsbox traffic. Webcomic artists are getting dirt cheap advertising prices.

Plus, let's face it, the truth of the matter is Keenspace is a hell of a lot more fun a community than Keenspot is. Look at all the group activities we take part in. Remember the Keen Kids fun? There's a lot of other fun things we do here. Space is like going to summer camp. Spot is like being stuck in a stuffy, boring office job.

Yeah, but do you get a cute secretary? That'd be a pretty big selling point for me. Plus som office jobs are okay with you surfing the web if there's a lull...

Then again, camp's got s'mores.

Burgandy: they might have to name it something without a "keen" in there, so as not to sully their clean image.

RPin wrote: It's all good Al, and I agree with you for the most part. But Ghastly refers to an event that took place solemnly on this forum and was never plugged nor even mentioned outside it.

That was indeed done purely for the purpose of fun, so don't go generalizing the situation like we're all starving for attention and hits. You'll find out that the great majority of the people who wanders around these forums are not like that.

EDIT: I had a complete apology here. But I don't feel it quite makes justice to this situation, so instead, let's just put it this way:
