one step closer to getting a clear picture in my mind so that I may fantasize more....

Hmm. Well, you don't look like you have any particular reason to hate the way you look to me, Kisai. I mean, it's not like you have a huge, broken looking nose from your father's side of the family or something. You know - just taking a completely random example that does not apply to me at all. Me too. *masturbates to tiny pics*

I'm with Joel. Unless you have, say, huge knife slash scars through your eyes, nose, and forehead, then you probably cannot predict what people will see.

I know what people will see if I upload a picture of me, so I don't upload any. XD

You may think it's the thumbs up, but it's the shooter.

Although there's lots of jokes about female pictures around here, this is what I like about these forums: no one going ga-ga over the fact that there's females. In most places (admittedly I hang around nerdy places), guys are always going: "OMG, you're a girl??!!!1!one A real girl? Shit, send me your pic, plz. PLZ. PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!111!!!!"

It's refreshing to know that there are enough females here that none of this happens.

It's probably because the average age of someone in these forums isn't 13.

Hmmm, it seems official now, Kisai is hawt.
That might be even more important discovery than the one that Keffria is hawt, I'll have to give it a thought.

I have agree, Kisai. You have a very attractive profile. If I was in BC I'd be forced to ask you if you were free for dinner on Tuesday (I'm off on Tuesay).

Glad I'm not the only one with a one track mind...

I know how you feel. I'm the same way, but you should be so shy. Instead, just let your feelings roll on by.

Joel Fagin looks just like his avatar! Just less psychotically happy.

ETA: Aw man, even Kisai, the shyest of shys, was brave enough to post her photos. I'm such a pussbag. *wussy tears* I really like your blurry catgirl pic! You should use that for avatars and such.

Plus, it's one of the few places on the internet with a reasonable XX/XY ratio. I hang out on a music board and the three girls there are so hopelessly outnumbered it's sad. The place actually skews older than this board, but it's pretty much doomed to be a complete testosterone fest. :P

Welp SC, looks like you are now officially the shyest of the shy! And I would ask you to post a pic, but that would be mean seeing as how you are sensitive about your appearance or something (though I doubt you have a reason to be). I already posted my old drivers licenses photo before, so once again, here's me:

Was taken at Namureinocon last December. Like anyone really cares anyways. :P Also, Kisai, you have some really cool hair! :D

You shouldn't be ashamed of how you look. It's not something you can change. It's definitely not your fault so blame your parents. You have nice hair. 8)

If it helps at all, I can't carry on a normal conversation if it means I have to look at myself. Reflections in the mirror, in windows, etc. Can't do it. It's not that I hate the way I look. I just feel more comfortable if I'm not in the room when I'm doing the talking (or if I can distance myself from my voice somehow). It's embarrassing. I can't see my face (physically impossible) and I avoid looking at myself in the mirror so I have a mental picture of myself as a completely dopey geek. I hated doing tech support because half the job required on site support and me talking to people. The only way I could do the job was to blurt out all the information I had and let people decipher what I was saying.

I'm a chibi cat-boy for a reason. I don't want to be identified with the person on the other side of this monitor. I'm much happier with the reception I get online than I am with the one I get from real people. Anonymity has its benefits. You don't have to look at me. You don't have to listen to me talk. I don't have to deal with people looking at me, expecting complete and sensible language. My artwork gets to stand on its own merits. You're not required to compliment me because I'm not standing over your shoulder. My comments get to stand on their own merits as well. If I'm being a complete bastard, the only thing you don't get to do is punch me.

The way I see it, you couldn't possibly be as bad as you think because you will always be your own worst critic. That and if you constantly obsess about yourself people will start to see you the way you see yourself. If you want to be anonymous and let people see you as Space Coyote's artwork then by all means, do so. If you want to post pics of yourself, you're welcome to. But, like people are told in Comic Pitching, don't tell people about how much your comic sucks and how bad an artist you are. They don't want to hear that. They want to look for themselves and make their own judgements. You might find that people like what they see despite what you think.

You've been adamant about being anonymous. I think that's as brave an anyone here. You aren't just posting your pic because everyone else is. You have a statement to make and you make it. Besides, you have some of the best artwork on Keenspace. People will be able to identify you with that as easily as they would seeing your face.

Wow, that's the most positive spin on my stubborness I've heard. Thanks.

Hmmm, let's see... I've been reluctant about showing people online what I look like ever since I got online (7-8 years ago!). My policy used to be, "I'll show you my pic if we've been good friends for a decent amount of time, OR if you show me yours." I then changed that to, "I'll show you my pic ONLY if you show me yours." And now, it's "You don't get to see what I look like unless you see me in person." So, many of my online friends don't know what I look like. Mwaha. But hey, a few of them are equally as shy as I am, and we respect each other's wishes to not be seen.

One of my closest online friends, who I met in real life 2 years ago, recently requested more current pictures of me. I said, "Okay, but you have to show recent pictures of yourself!" And she did, and when I saw how pretty she is, I wussed out and couldn't show her my pictures. Blah. There are equally pretty girls here in this forum, so there's no way I could show myself.

Being this insecure really sucks. I know how dumb it is, but I can't help it. There are days when I don't want to leave the house.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I really envy people who have no problem with showing their face online, whether it be publically or privately. I just want to not care how others may judge me. Then again, even if I WAS more self-confident, I may not want to show a picture of myself. I'm just as stubborn about revealing my real name. Online, when people think of me, I want them to think of the name "space coyote" and my art, not my real name and face. Those are reserved for real life.

Aaaand look at me ramble. THIS IS NOT LIVEJOURNAL, SPACIE. GO CRY ABOUT IT IN YOUR LIVEJOURNAL

Kisai and I may be meeting in real life this month. Currently taking pic requests for hot hot cat girl x coyote girl action.
