im going to make a banner for my comic and i want to know the tipical pixal length/hight of one

(i suck at spelling)

Wide: 468x60
Medium (these aren't particularly common): 200x40
Small/button: 88x31

Check in Help Forum, there's a sticky about banners. It gives standard sizes for keenspace banners so that you can upload them into keenspace guide.
