Most Annoying thing to happen while drawing...
This is a simple question.
I just want to know what everyone thinks is the most annoying thing that can happen when your drawing/scanning/coloring a comic or picture.

The most annoying thing is my printer... its colour balance is somehow broken so the pictures I print have wonky colours. But whenever I print my art work it keeps on looking BETTER with whatever my printer does to it. Then I have to sit there for hours playing with the colour balance in photoshop trying to duplicate the random result my printer produced and continually failing.

Having PSP crash after having worked for hours on colouring a page that for some reason I didn't save. Yep, its fun.

While coloring: My grandmother when she visits, coming to ask: do you mind if Iplay solitare for a while? (meaning all day)
What I'm thinking: Crazy old bat. We have two other computers and a PDA that all have solitare on them; and you certainly don't need a 1GB processer to run it. Go play it somewhere else: I'm busy.
What I say: Sure, Gran, play as long as you like!
While coloring: Anything. Anything can disturb my sensitive little artistic bubble. I would prefer to draw in a sealed, soundproof room, with only my computer and it's MP3 player for company.
Maybe even in a vacuum.
Whilst scanning: Golfers staring in my window. While I'm drawing I usually face away from the windows; and while coloring, even though I face the window, I'm too preoccupied to notice them.
But while I'm waiting for a 600dpi image to scan, I can't help but notice them out there.
Stupid golfers.
Why don't they go stare in someone else's window?

The most anoying thing while coloring is when photoshop decides, all by itself, whithout being told, to set the image to grayscale. And then won't let me change it to RGB color. (This is what happens when you make computers too smart. Today their f@$&ing with your drawings, tomorrow their overthrowing the govenment!)
The most anoying thing while drawing is having to stop and go to work.

infact just two days ago I was just about through with a picture I drew and I decide to listen to some music. But the instant I click on Real Player that annoying blue screen appears and say somethin about press any key to continue. so I do and imediatly my computer decides to just restart.... no real reason... just to restart...

Spilling tea on a whole bunch of drawings on your desk.
Luckily, I didn't get very much on any of them.
Also, inking. There's apparently no such thing as a felt-tipped pen that doesn't "explode" all over the page when you try to use it against a ruler or straightedge. I can usually brush those little spots of ink away without them smudging, however.

The most annoying thing... hmm... I think it's when school ninja and work ninja decide they want to play and shortly after I tell them to screw off I get locked in the perpetual battle between "you know, I really should script this other page first" or "shouldn't I have a cute chibi cat for the rant inked" or "man, it would be nice if I was doing this other story" or ... then work ninja bashes me over the head with the AIM club and I have to deal with him for a while and then, "you KNOW that project is actually due like TOMORROW and stuff" (school ninja can be such a bastard) so I have to tell him my comic isn't scripted and I should really be drawing because it's like TWO DAYS overdue and I really should be working on the next page and not listening to some pathetic whiner about some stupid project. Isn't that what I've got a partner for? So school ninja throws the deadly accurate "you're a graduate student you FREAK you can't get a C because they will pitch your out of school if you do and don't forget these people make catapults for fun" shuriken which of course hits its mark way too accurately and about that time work ninja decides to swing the AIM club again and we're back at it but I could really care less about work ninja today so I politely explain that he's a moron an should go beat his head against a wall and that I make up all the hours on my timecard anyway so he'll go pout in the corner for a while and then I sit for about 45 minutes with a pencil in my hand and school ninja keeps bouncing this super ball off my forehead saying "got any ideas yet..got any ideas yet" and it's getting really annoying because, "NO, I don't HAVE any ideas yet, you're driving me CRAZY!" so he laughs manically and I kick him in the balls and go back to scripting but work ninja won't put down that AIM club so I take it from him and find out "this thing weighs like a TON!" so I'm stuck under the AIM club and like one arm's pinned under me and finally, FINALLY work ninja decides he's bored so he picks up the AIM club and leaves but then I have school ninja with that freaking superball, boucing it off the wall saying "I'm not annoying you am I? I could come back later if I'm annoying you." so I sit down to do some scripting and end up writing something with no relation to anything in the entire universe. The whole time that guy in my head is on a superhero binge so I have to deal with him poncing around in his tights, TIGHTS no less!, all like "look at me, I'm manly" which still means he's the biggest wakko on the planet and school ninja is over there like "oh yeah you know who your daddy is" and I'm like "dude. Me. Script. Doing" so then, of course, I realize that I haven't eaten anything today. I've had like 15 glasses of orange juice and it's like 6:00 and I've seen the inside of the bathroom way too many times and I'm really hungry and this dude in my head...no, not going there...Anyway, I decide to appease school ninja for the thirty seconds it will take to get to my car by packing a book I will never open and then I drive to Subway and order and sit and eat but the friggin wrapping paper they use covers like the whole table so I have to wait until I'm done eating to draw but I need to script first and finally, oh so finally, I get words on paper that I can actually use - yay! - so I have enough to actually rough out a page and realize damn! no ketchup....err, wrong rant...I forgot my ruler so I have to use another piece of cardstock as a straight edge which is fine because I generally keep two with me but it's not so fine because I have to find 3/4 of an inch without a RULER! which I would have had if I hadn't been so busy trying to appease frigging school ninja who's standing in the corner with a huge grin saying "told you I'd make you work in the project, didn't I?" so I pull out my secret weapon - wha-hah! - I have a sketchpad that is exactly 3 inches wide BITE ME MONKEY BOY! WAHAHAH!! So I fold and I fold and get 3/4 of an inch and I can make my page border so I know where to draw the characters and it's 8:00 and the page is BLANK and school ninja is like pointing and me and nodding his heads, all like "you're mine" and the Subway crew are mopping the floor with this evil paint stripping goo and my eyes are watering and Delila is on the radio because that's all they play at Subway and she's all like "love is so wonderful" and I'm like "well, I'm single and you can BITE ME" so it's time to go and Subway is like closing and I didn't get anything drawn and I have to do the project anyway so I go home and sit up until like 2 in the morning working on the project when I really wanted just draw something but there were so many distractions, well okay most of them were in my head (the guy...*shudder*) but at least I've got the project done, right? Not really because that was only the most recent part of the thing and I'll need to start immediately on the next bit tomorrow otherwise there's no way I'll get it done so the vicious cycle will start again tomorrow.

The more slow and carefully you go with a felt tipped pen, the more it will bleed all over and ruin your detail area.

If you could find the time to draw the ninjas fighting you and stuff like that and post it on your site, then I would give a good three cents to go there and read it... that would be funny...
You know your life would be easier if you had a magical cat gaurdian (like me) to take care of those ninjas. Shoot... If I had a penny everytime that cat has saved me from turtle droids from hell than I'd be able to pay the three cents that I said I'd pay to read your comic about the school ninja and the work ninja...
~good times~
EDIT:
After I posted this reply I desided to draw me as a gaurdian cat. Keep in mind I did it in, like, 27 minutes on PSP with only the line and fill tool.. Oh Yeah... By the way its also 1:30 a.m. so bare in mind I'm tired too.
So here it is:

I have an unfortunate lack of ninjas, not to say I don't have both school and work to do but I lack many of the nagging little reminders in my head which help people prioritize. Now once I have waited to long I have my own little guilt ninja which beats me over the head and neck with a spiked mace of shame.faub wrote:The saga of Faub vs the School Ninja and the Work Ninja.

And when you erase a small part of a drawing to fix it, and somehow DESTROY it, and have it never look as good as it did in the first place, even when you decide to just draw in exactly what you did before -- which was easy cause the eraser wasn't very good....
I blame it on the eraser.
