To be honest, he's gonna spam regardless of what we do. Why not just play along with him until he gets sick of us?

Well, it seems like the thread insulting VT didn't stop the endless ranting. But that little picture only seems to elevate him/her to legendary status... and I thought it would go away if we just ignored it... silly me. Is there a way to kill VileTerror? I would be happy even if it were a martoring (i know that wasn't spelt right...)

Eh, whatever. Some of Vile's posts can be entertaining at times, even if there are way too many of them. There's worse spammers out there.

You should try being on some of the e-mail lists we have out here...

No, she's right. Let's play along, show high spirits. It may be too much zen for you, but I believe that insulting nor even banning are the right ways to deal with him.

We could make the VT Happiness Thread, and see if he dies of blushing.

VT's opinion seems as valid as anyone's I've seen, and sometimes even more rationally expressed. At least the post's usually SAY something, so I don't care if there are many.

As an example of contrast, I cite Dark Magician: While DM's threads always make me laugh so hard I soil my shorts (even if I'm not even wearing them), they don't actually SAY anything, or incite any kind of debate about any legitimate topic. Don't hear any complaints cause the humor is so good.

And while VT has rarely if ever posted anything to make me laugh, the threads started always seem to find everyone else climbing on board to join in the topic, myself included. Really, even people who've made themselves out to be at odds against VT join in the threads, where lack of participation would speak so much more strongly.

So what is supposed to count for points around here? Taking up space to be funny, or taking up space to try to start firey debates? I see merit in both.

"What made you happy today?" yeah there's some solid CONTENT for ya. Don't see any complaints about it tho. If I had to be sporting the hard drive space for this server, I'd be rolling my eyes at most of this.

But of course, I posted on that thread too cause it was as swell as any other, as is THIS thread...

and I guess VT's too.

Not trying to pick on you or anything. Nor do I think you would really care, or notice. But your threads come to mind because they've been about the funniest I've ever seen.

I don't know if anyone actually talks about drawing on here any more tho. I guess all those topics are old and burnt out now. Bums me out a little, cause new people like me wouldn't mind typing more about it.

Maybe we could have our own kiddie pool, or something? Some place where new people can still talk about learning to make web comics without boring the tears out of all the older poster-people? Is there such a forum? If so, I'll hang out there a while.

As an afternote: To be honest, I've really re-thought a bit about what some of you guys said. Some of VT's posts are really cool and hardly fall under annoying. Yeah, he talks too much and spams a bit, but he's not being offensive and malicious. I've seen plenty of these guys before and I think they're horrible.

I really think that Shakespeare thing was something really original - a damn cool concept. It sounds like it needs more work, but I think it's great.

I'm not entirely sure if I wanna get rid of him, really. And come to think of it, he wasn't bothering me all that much.

It's not like we CAN get rid of Vile. But when Vile's not actively trying to make us wish we could, Vile is not so bad.

I tried that. Unfortunately other people didn't listen to me when I said "let's mass ignore VT".
Since they didn't listen, it was just me ignoring him, and that was kinda silly, so I scrathed that.

I guess they didn't hear the "frog in cold water" story (as untrue as it is)
Or they didn't notice Terror's strategy:
First he was quiet, he politely asked for help, and got it.
Then he started beeing annoying, but he was helping some people in the help forum, and he was kinda funny.
Right now he stopped helping people, he's ocassionally kinda funny, but annoying as hell.
Next logical step is stopping beeing funny, and becoming even more annoying (if possible). Plus he'll bring more of his "friends" here.

A couple of months ago we got a guy that posted 50% of Terror's daily spam dosage, once. And all the people were really angry at him.
Terror does step by step, each day posting more spam than the previous, that way before we notice it's too late, it will be.

Note how he asked "ron" to tone it down, "don't get banned too soon" he said.

And in an other post he said "my purpose is not minor flooding", since he arleady achieved minor flooding, it's obvious his purpose is major flooding.

Yeah, you guys weren't here during late October and early November when Vile turned up the heat with obnoxious, insulting, annoying posts. He/she/ what ever the hell it is even did a litttle experimentation thread. "why do you hate me?" most people, like myself said, "Well we really don't hate you, but you can be a little annoying." Then in response with the "number one retort" thread, it began to use what we said and twisted in into some weird logic to insult us. You can view both threads here:

Oh well. I'm not bothered, but then, I don't read every single thread in this forum to start off with.

Also, the purpose of this place is for GENERAL DISCUSSION. Nike can post whatever the hell he wants. It's a discussion for general purposes.
