This is interesting - there are a couple ways to read this comic. The way I get it, the archetect flew into space, but got bored/lonely and came back because it would take too long. The Engineer pointed out that she was sad from the voyage because it was cramped and slow and had another idea. They launch a bigger ship from their space elevator (they aught to have done that for the first one!) and now are in hyperspace.
... I like it.
What are they looking at?
... I like it.
What are they looking at?
Architect: Well, I nearly ran out of food and air trying to get there, and it was depressing to spend all those months w/o sunlight.
Engineer: :Eyes darting nervously to and fro, and hissing: Yessssss, I SSssseeee. If you could build a BIGGER (and ssslower) ssshhip, one that could more than sssussstain you and all of your friendsssss. It would be like a csssity, I'm ssssure you would enjoy that more than that sssssilly tower of yourssss.
Architect: I thank you wholeheartedly for your selfless helpful advice. I never suspected your intentions were anything less than magnanimous.
[Months Later...]
Ensign: But, our ship is no bigger than the last attempt of the dreaded architect!
Engineer: Sssssimpering fool! Activate light drivesssss!
[Meanwhile]
Architect: WHAT was THAT?

I think the one who flew in the space and got bored/sad is the engineer and not the architect.
Then the architect built a huge space station that can contain an entire city in order to fly there without feeling bored and all.
But the engineer created a super-fast spaceship to reach the star earlier and without having the time to get bored.
But why do you people keep referring to them as "she"? They're both male! They just begun having an ancient greek look (long dresses and long hairs) but they're guys... i mean, the engineer even grew beard when he was on the rocket.

I think you are mistaking the artist's shading style for facial hair. It's tough to tell at some points, but Taiwanimation has made no visible effort to differentiate the type of shading used on the face from that used elsewhere. Even though the people are a bit androgynous [perhaps on purpose], can't you tell they're women, just by the way they act? I think if they were men, there would be less friendly discussion than there would be arguing. There would be a more competitive, adversarial attitude. I think this would be the case even if they were grown men and educated professionals. If it truly is a competition, they would see any success of the competition as an affront to their position in their field, and would seek to win above all else as a means to justify their area of study.Jops wrote: But why do you people keep referring to them as "she"? Well, the lack of text makes it equally confusing for all nations.
You are the Non. You must go now, and never return."
"1.Scan in high res 2.tweak with curves, levels or something to clean up the scan (or use channel mixer to remove blue pencil lines) 3.Add colour using a layer set to multiply. 4.Add wordbubbles and text as vector shapes. 5. Merge all layers. 6.resize to the web size. 7. Export/Save for Web" that's all I know about webcomicking.

Don't worry. When you see it, it's spoiled in the first five minutes anyway. That was a selling point, not so much of a secret.YarpsDat wrote:I haven't seen that movie, yet. But every freaking review mentions that, sometimes they think they are really smart by dropping "tiny hints", like, oh say, writing the whole review BACKWARDS.
Of course no "spoiler warnings", no sir, because they didn't actually say it, they just gave you a TINY HINT
Cool comic.

Thank you all for your comments. Now to answer the questions...
1. both characters are women.
2. the architect wins (those who know I'm an architecture student should of figured this out)
And a question of mine:
1. I don't care who wins in the Matrix Revolutions, but are the special effects worth $8 to see on a big screen?

I enjoyed the special effects. If you hate Trinity and Neo, they are thankfully absent from a lot of the good parts.Taiwanimation wrote:1. I don't care who wins in the Matrix Revolutions, but are the special effects worth $8 to see on a big screen?
However, having enjoyed the first two and having made the mistake of thinking there was something special about the second movie, I was really let down by the third one. There's absolutely nothing special or interesting or redeeming about it beyond WOW LOTS OF ****ING ROBOTS!!!!
I enjoyed the 3rd part way better than the second.
There was less talking than in the 2nd, and it wasn't purposefully confusing.
(it seemed like they thought: hmm, we have 1 and a half movie worth of F/X, let's split it in two, and pad with stupid talking, if we make it confusing enough, people will think we're making a legend.)
And one more thing, they granted my wish- neo punched someone in slow motion.
Although the fight near the end of the movie were kinda DBZ-esque, so massive it was just funny.

I really got a thrill out of the 2nd part. I saw it several times. I salivated over it. It was cool.
Ok, minus the fscking rave scene.
Anyway, the 3rd part was good. Don't get me wrong. I liked it a lot - good special effects and all that. It just wasn't anything exceptional. :/ I enjoyed it, but I wasn't delighted by it. I won't see it again in a theater, although I may buy the DVD just to have all three.

I'll download it from Kazaa, to watch that first fight in Merowing's place frame by frame. And the Thor fight/chase sequence too.
