HELP! Alternative logs?

Seems the Keenspace logs are no longer keeping track of referrals and hit counts for December...at least for me, that is.

*sigh*

It was bad enough my initial hits were deleted the first time Keenspace had issues, now this.

So is there another way I can keep track of the hits I get without having to rely on the faulty Keenspace Logs?

Yes.

Take three grapefruit (if you can't find those, oranges can do) and place them in a bowl. Take the bowl in front of your computer, and while holding it above your head, bow three times and place the bowl on top of your CPU box or monitor.

In an hour, come back, rotate the bowl 180 degrees, and remove the grapefruit facing you.

Open up a text editing program. Place the grapefruit on the numeric keypad and recite your password silently. Remove the grapefruit.

The first four digits will be your number of hits, the next three the numer if visits, and the last three the number of pageviews.

Realistically, before I moved to Keenspace I used SiteMeter and TheCounter and Stats4All. I still do sort of.

What do you mean by "Realistically"? I tried the grapefruit thing and my stats are WAY up! Man 34 visitors in this month alone! It's like being king for a day! I ain't never going back to the old ways. You can have my grapefruit when you pry it from my cold, dead, citrus stained hands.

Spec, you should know that grapefruits can mess up your logs.

You can argue the merits of my newly adopted method, but apparently you missed the part where I said I wouldn't change until I was DEAD. I know I've got alot of new enemies on these forums now who are jealous of my phenomenally high stats (34! Woo!) and ways with a grapefruit, so if you are a non-believer in the ways of the citrus, come on, try and stop me!

I was actually dropping the grapefruit in segments.

No WONDER. Then it said I only got 10 hits from some german site that advertised bondage fetish accoutrements for hamsters.

I never KNEW they made leather goods that SMALL.

I'm using Extreme Tracker ( http://www.extreme-dm.com/ ) in the meantime, but I'm not sure if I like having my stats page up for everyone to see. I'll probably stop using it once the Keenspot tracker is fixed.

Not a choice with Extreme Tracking. The open to the public log is free, for a private one you have to pay.

I think I'll just go without the logs for the time being. I'll just assume that it's doing twice as good as usual. Boy, will I feel ripped off when the logs come back on and I have no proof, but I will know deep in my heart that I really did get a hundred hits a day for that brief period.

Or something.
