Oh, crap! Now the bananas caught on fire!

GAAH! Now the bananas are flying! And screaming threats! And . . .
Okay, the Sharpie fumes wore off. I'll be okay now.

Dude, stop drawing your comic with sharpies or work in a ventilated area.

It wasn't the comic. My dad teaches one of my classes and he asked me to make caricatures of the people in the class. I didn't feel like using up all the ink in my Pilot pens, and I don't have any felt tips anymore, so I started drawing and didn't think to open a window (NE Ohio is stinking cold during the winter) and . . .
(gasp gasp gasp) . . . stupid run-on sentences.

. . . so by the time I finished drawing I thought I felt like a million bucks - completely spent (nyuk, nyuk, nyuk) - so I went up to my room for a while and then I fell asleep and I dreamed I went downstairs and posted a bunch of stuff in the forums but I knew that wasn't right because the computer was running too fast and I have a really slow connection at home and then I woke up and realized I was hungry and just as I was about to enjoy a hearty breakfast of some kind of stuff, I discovered my family in the kitchen having dinner because it was only 7 o'clock at night and then I screamed a bunch of stuff because I had forgotten about play practice and I ran all of the 500 feet to the high school and I got there and I realized it was Friday and I never have play practice on Fridays so there was no point in my being there, and then I woke up again, which meant all of that was a dream but then I realized that I was in a van down by the river and I don't live in a van down by the river and that's about when the bananas caught fire and here I am now.

Okay. Is it Moose porn or Porn Moose? They really are quite different, you know.
Thank you, Keda and Odd1. As Josh said, a friend drew this for me.

Someone mentioned Bill Gates at the start of this thread and it just reminded me that if you type "I'd like to see Bill Gates dead" in MS Word 97 and press Shift-F7 the thesaurus comes up with the matching phrase "I'll drink to that"...

Sharpies are cool man. Alcohol-based markers rock. The "bleed right through your paper, through the desk, and onto the carpet below" type of rock. And they're cheaper than microns, which is always good. I switched to Sharpies just the other day and inking hasn't been the same ever since. It's groOoOovy. ::blinks frenetically::

Too bad they don't have a smiley with both eyes vaguely narrowed in an expression of mild disbelief . . .
Microns, eh? I thought that was a unit in chemistry . . .

They call them Sakura Microns, and along with Copic markers, they're supposed to be some type of disposable uber-inking pens. But in the end, it's the amount of practice you have rather than the brand of pen that matters. Not to diss Microns or Copics which are very sweet inking pens but they're a tad expensive at $2.99+ a pop and you go through one really quickly.
Paper's important too, get the heavier 24lb stuff instead of the regular 20lb. I'd use cardstock or art notebooks but that stuff is expensive.

I had a nice reply here and got signed out somehow.
Here's a condensed version. I can't drive and live in a small town, so improvements in paper and ink may be a ways off.
The printer paper is how I can trace from my sketch page to my layout page (if there's another way, tell me), and I try to reduce translucency by stacking paper in the scanner.
