Has anyone seen this movie?
Let me just say this; I saw it tonight...I am now scared to live.
That is all.

You watched the American version or the Japanese version?
I heard the Japanese version was more scarier

...more scarier...?
I saw the American one. It was scary enough.

I hate my brother sometimes.
He used to always say 'ring' insted of 'ass', 'arse', 'bottom' ect.
Now because of that I keep thinking the Ring is a movie full of potty humor.

That's what I thought too. That connotation of "ring" has been ingrained in me ever since a friend described the effects of eating mexican food as "pushing broken glass through my ring."

I got the chance to see a sneak preview of
The Ring about a month ago. I was very apprehensive about the movie since it was a Hollywood remake of a foreign film (and we know how great a track record Hollywood has with that, now don't we. Can we say
Somersby
). But who am I to turn up free movie passes.
So I went expecting to hate the movie. Instead, I was blown away. So much so, that now, having also watched the original
Ringu I'm afraid I to say that I feel the US version may be better.
Ringu is great in its own right, and seeing some of cultural differences in the films is a real treat for me, but I think
The Ring did a better job of keeping the suspense levels up.

For the record, everyone who enjoyed this movie should read the novel House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. It's hefty (706 pages), and even though I haven't seen the Ring yet, I can guarantee that House of Leaves totally kicks its ass in the genre (if not in any other conceivable way, including literally finding the ass of the movie and kicking it).

I can't wait to see the Ring. Everyone who has seen it so far has unanimously declared it to be terrifying. I'm waiting seven days to see if any of you guys who saw it first kick the bucket...
My question is, how many of you crazy people played the crappy Dreamcast survival horror game called The Ring that was loosely based on the same premise?

Such a game exists? Cool! I wish to endulge in its crappiness.

Yup. It involved virtual time travel and wierdoness and obligatory walking around in darkness shooting monsters with shotgun action. And there was the film that would kill ya if you watched it, but you never watch it. Actually, I did rather like the game, but it left me wanting. Wanting a better game, that is.
