Evidently not too busy to be snide, superior, and patronising.
Dude, calm down. How much time does it take to be "snide, superior, and patronising" anyway?
Seriously though, we're just jokers around here. Don't take us too seriously. And as it was said earlier... Gee, cynical and sarcastic cartoonists!? Isn't that like our roots!?

This made me smile on my way to work. Thanks for the morning lift

Dang, you know the only time I've ever seen this board get nasty is when someone comes out here trying to offer us "work".
In a way, I find that a bit heartwarming. Thus I have given up my attempts to change my comic to ER Only Inn.

The rewards: well, if you put your strips online in the first place you just want others to see them. It was surely not unreasonable of me to imagine that hundreds of people seeing your week each day instead of (in some cases) just a handful might be enticing. Obviously you are all such serious artists that the very idea of more than three people seeing what you create is just too much to bear.
I already have over 10000 weekly readers for my comic strip.

If only he was offering us "work".
It was the arrogance that we should take on the task of providing him with a free comic based on ER because we're on keenspace and thus
nobody would ever view our work otherwise that irked me.
The "deadlines negotiable" part gave me a good chuckle. If I'm doing extra work for somebody for free the deadlines are "whenever the hell I say they are".

Know why I do a cartoon like this? Because I believe that there are people who will prefer it over, for example, "Frends" turned into a comic or something. And because I liked when other people did it. I'm an idealist. If I wasnt, I'd probably sell out. Heck, I'd probably sell out for this thing with ER only if I had a good idea for comic. But I don't.
Why is it every time someone asks for a comicartist, we start with joking, and then he gets offensive? I mean, we did started first, but we're like that all the time. Heck, we have a "Is Sortelli a dick" thread, even!

I think we should stop joking and get to working on a free comic for my new John Doe fansite, which will earn you all at least three whole visitors (Me, Myself and I). Deadlines are in five minutes.

*Shrieks* AAAAH! I have to make a
COMICSTRIP?? After all this work avoiding my very own comic? No... no deadline. I never saw that. I never even read this topic. Don't know what a topic is.
I'm just going to back.. .up... slowly.

I myself am looking for an artist for my new strip, to be entitled "Dick or Ass? The Sortelli Experience--A Libel". I'm looking for somebody who can draw to match what will hopefully be the most pretentiously-written comic strip ever. A deft hand with male genitalia is a must, as well as an encyclopedic knowledge of the television program CSI.

Why nobody comes to ask for a script writer?
"Hi, I'm a newspapers comic-artist and I'm in need of a good scenarist..."
Well, scriptwritting is a heck less of a job.

Because everyone and their dog thinks they have the chops to write the next "Great American Novel"...
...they just need an artist to add the pictures to their insane ramblings.
No kidding, I once had someone try to con me into drawing sketches for their 'role-paying guidebook'. He handed me the reference items for the characters, which I was initially curious about.
So I read them.
It was like a window into madness.
I woke up 5 days later on a grass mat in Tijuana laying next to a donkey in a prom dress, my mind reeling, and sporting a tatoo of a bearded woman named 'Martha' across my inner thigh.
BEWARE!
