I wanted to do this a while ago out of curiosity, but didn't get around to it. I just wanted to see, without the effort of actually going to everyone's site, how much your artwork has improved from your first strip to now.

This here's my little example of what it was to what it is in about... 70 actual strips time

I guess this is giving away half the suprise of what the hell I've been up to lately, but some pre-comic feedback would probably do me some good :D

Ooh!
I really dig the new style. :)

(Although, as you might expect from me, I liked those thick outlines you used to do. )

My art hasn't changed at all since I started, I don't think. See?

Image

Humor's at about the same level too.

Odd1, your stuff is looking insanely better though. In all honesty I wasn't actually that fond of your earlier work, what with it being "serious" and all that, but I can't wait to see the new stuff. And LAG your art has always been good, you just don't update often enough.

OK, so this doesn't cover all of my work... but it does represent the work that I actually put some time into... 8)

BTW JasterW, looks like you've improved massively.

I've noticed that too. I was already posting these "mistakes" I did in the past during my comic, but I'll just post a couple on this forum anyways:

The transformation of my mouse character from weird looking stick figure to fat rat.

and...

The obvious shrinkage of the main character.

I don't know when I started noticing these differences... they just gradually became what they are now.[/img]

Here is a picture of Lord Elf when I started:

Here is a picture of Lord Elf now:

*runs away and shouts from a difference* I will actually be redrawing the characters soon! Maybe.

Thanks guys :) Glad you like the new style. I'm still trying to get better at it.

I think everyone's been improving a lot and that's great, I'm especially impressed by JasterW and Sylvan's improvement. Kudos!

Here's a pic from each story line so far. (the last one is from TDTOU, because it's the latest pic out of all of em.) I think I've gotten better.

Jaster, that's cheating and you know it!

You were never that bad in March 2002, for a start you've purposfully left out the last panel of that strip ^.^

Now you've gone and given' people high expectations of how much they should imporve you bad bad person you!

Hrmpf, people these days... Dishonest posting! What's the world coming to?

And I will update with a new comic soonish! It's just the whole Computer Upgrade thing is a bit, you know, draining... especially since I use the Wacom tablet to draw everything... And I keep coming up with great plot ideas but promptly forget them, because I always come up with them in that state of non-sleep in bed... Grrrr...

Hmm. Well going from oldest to most recent picture:

There are some subtle improvements overall, but I really haven't been doing this long enough for there to be a dramatic change. I do find I'm making fewer nitpicky mistakes on average than when I started.

Well, their hair has grown a bit  In the second one the lines are bolder and therefor more clear, yet it has an unfortutely uncontrasted background. That's why the first picture might still look sharper :-?

Hehe, I was just seeing how many people have actually read my strip. The first two panels taken from March were from a comic where I was intentionally making the comic as dumb and poorly drawn as possible, as a joke. And while my art has improved over the course of the comic, it's been nothing as drastic as I made it look. So... yeah, I guess I cheated.. but it was funny, right?

I'm more impressed by the improvements Sortelli made in his art. That second Lord Elf looks so incredibly realistic. The first one's complete crap, though.

I'm not computer smart enough to post pictures. I think.

But anyone whose read my comic can see the drastic changes from issue 33 to issue 34 where i changed my style overnight. It won't be changing again.
