Keenspace Spotlight 2003.....

Post by Scrubbo »

It's going to happen again. Mass chaos.

The official mailing list for the Keenspace Spotlight is found right here. If you weren't involved LAST year and would like to have your work in the keenspace book THIS year, this is where you need to go.

Tell your friends!

I don't have any friends...

Can I tell that freaky, smelly old man next door? I don't think he would understand me, but at least I would be advertising!

Don't bother telling him. He wouldn't want to be in the book anyway.

Hmm, well this looks mighty interesting. I signed up for the group, but I gotta wait for someone to approve me. Kinda too bad there isn't an info page. It would be interesting to know more about it without having to wait for membership to read all the messages.

Is there an info page?

Woo hoo! I wasn't in it last year because I didn't exist! Well, *I* existed, obviously, but my comic didn't. So... yeah... coolness, spotlightage.

Just joining the newsgroup is enough for now. Poke around in the files section of the group..... there is a FAQ and suchlike, along with a listing of who's reserved pages.

To reserve pages, follow the directions in the FAQ!

^_^

We're trying to get some webspace set up so that we can put up the info in a more user-friendly way than the incredibly craptastic Yahoo Groups method.

^_^

Um, and you could just label your comic PSC..... ^_^

Okay, I'll join.

So what exactly is this now, do we actually make money off of it or is it just to show off our work?

No, you just lose money. ;)
But then it gets printed and given away and many thousands of people see it.

Sylvan the Spiffy is always correct!

Yup. You pay a bunch of money, you get printed in the book, and it'll hopefully be handed out at stores around the country on Free Comic Book Day. And even if that doesn't fly, it'll be handed out at the Comic-Con next year. Yay for freebies!

Free to the reader, that is....

As an artist... YOU GET THE SHAFT! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Hey, you gotta suffer to be an artist, right?

In that case, I don't really belong. ;)

Yep, and $25 for a half.

Hmmm...If I just enter as psc, and do a fairly clean pic...but then won't people jumping to the site not knowing what it is be scared?
do they post the keenspace comic urls, or not? (I should ask that first) or do they post emails and stuff?
