This new Photoshop 7 malarky...

Hey all. I just got Photoshop 7.0 after previously using Photoshop 6 for ages. I want to know, apart from looking a lot nicer, and having that "healing" tool, what new stuff does it have that rocks?
So, I know I could read a magazine, but the Photoshop reviews have long since gone and anyway, it's not as good as someoneelses thoughts on it that aren't being bribed to be nice (joking).
So post your comments on what makes Photoshop 7.0 that I cannot immediately see... (so far, I love it and that view will never change)

Got it about 3 months ago. One, they de-junked the line tool. That pissed me off in Photoshop 6...the LINE TOOL! It created its own layer and crap like that. Now, its like it was in PS5 and I am happy.
The filters and lighting effects are much sharper and stronger than in 6. Also, the airbrush tool now has a flow control.

Um... when did Photoshop 5.5 stop being adequate?

When photoshop 6 came out, silly. Don't you want to have the newest toys too?
Its disgusting. They change a few things, give it a different splash screen and charge you 100 bucks more than the previous one. Its called a capitolist economy. What better way to make money than by leaching it off those who already like you?

Ands that's exactly how I intend to get it as well. Its the same way I got the last one too.
EDIT: By the by, Dunn old boy, awesome job on your comic. I love your new American "Gawthic" (I made that one up

) color scheme, it really cleaned up the edges and looks great! Thought you should know...

I would tend to argue that they changed just a few things, if you look under the hood of this baby you'll see some real power. I felt like Photoshop 6 was the half-assed release, they had some ideas that never fully formed. Photoshop 7 has the full package and I couldn't be happier with it.

Hmm, sounds like I need to make another purchase. My photoshop is no longer... *ahem* 1337. Did I do that right? I hope so. Anyway, 1300 Aussie dollars is a hefty purchase. I have to start saving my pennies.

Everything I ever learned about coloring I learned from MacHall. Actually, the first two "new color" strips are ass compared to Mondays...or my Metal Gear Solid one.

Just out of curiosity since all my friends have been raving about the wonders of the new and improved Photoshop, is 7.0 'bugged' like 6.0 was? Like... People with copies of it could be caught? That was slightly creepy.

Well, I have one major reason for making the switch to PS7, namely that I use a Mac, and 7 is the first release compatible with Mac OS X, as opposed to 6, which would have to be run in classic mode (blea!). So, as a Mac user, I'd say that PS7 is definitely worth the trouble of obtaining it.
