I know this is a horrible idea... or is it?

Here's the dilly-o. Before my webspace was approved, I pre-drew about 35 comics. Since then, i've only drawn 5 more. It hit me today that I only have like... 15 or so more issues until i'll run out. So, to pump out some issues in a haste, i'm doing a series of badly drawn (like, even moreso than usually) comics, and saying they're drawn by a 4 year old. The comic only takes me like, 10 minutes to draw, so I can get a bunch done quickly, just to get me some buffer going. What do ya'll think? Will this crash and burn? Anybody wanna go to prom with me?

Yes, it'll be a really juvenile storyline, involving cannibalism. Seriously.

Trev, thats pretty much what I did. I got my first 34 comics done before I got my site. I'd advise against your plan. Take your time and do a good job. It updates suffer quality won't. Do not draw quick crappy comics just because your buffer died.

...and, er, about the prom, I sorta agreed to go out with Bobby the quarterback. Sorry.

Hmm... I must admit, a four-year-old style comic featuring cannibalism *is* rather alluring... at least, *I* think it would be funny.

What's the dil-dil-dil-dilly-o, dilly-o, what's the dil-dil-dil-dil DIL!
What's the dil-dil-dil-dilly-o, dilly-o, what's...

::stops singing::

Sorry.

P.S. Holy moly! I only finished 4 pages before I started posting!

... of course, I'm sort of kicking myself for that now...

I'm only going to do 4 or 5 like that, and they're still entertaining. There's still a bit more stuff to happen in the present comic before they come up. I'm gonna go ahead and do a few more shitty ones and then try to come up with some real stuff. I dunno, i'm in a rut, I think. I need a muse. I need readers. Seriously, how many of you read my comic on a regular basis? Cause i'll be honest, the only comic I read regularly is Peeps on the Skreet. ANd that includes ALL webcomics, not just Keenspace ones. I never was a big fan of webcomics, it's just what I think I might be good at. Oh well, bed time for the Trevster. Bye bye!

I have to agree with Razi, quality first. The only way you're going to get better, and faster with your comic is to stick to the characters and art you've been doing, not downgrade your style in the interest of speed. And while it may be an interesting concept that don't make it a good one.

bad idea

I think its a bad Idea.

Its better to let your comic updates slow down
and/or be late then it is to deliver junk on time.

If the story line is FIRST RATE then you might keep
a few readers in spite of the 4year oldish art but I
think most people would be interested in better
artwork.

Afterall, nobody can see the size of your buffer. only
whats on the pages.

On my comic....often times my buffer is empty and
i am uploading the comic 10 minutes before its due
to be updated.

I've been making it up as I go along from the day I started. Living dangerously, on the edge! Watch out, I'm a wild man!

Go for it. Sounds great. I mean, if you've got 35 comics up, and then you've got complete crap coming up, it'll add to the humor.

I had 18, then I did an extra one, then we got a new comp and I lost all my sprites.

I'm set.
