how many visits per day do you get?

For discussions, announcements, non-technical questions and anything else comics-related or otherwise that doesn't fit in any of the other categories.

right now, i'm averaging 10 a day, a 2-visit increase since last month's average. I want to know what's normal for a fledgeling comic.

(please only cartoonists whose comic has been around for less than a year reply)

I think that's pretty much normal.

Pageviews are waaaaay more useful than hits. A page with 4 images (including buttons) on it registers 5 hits when a person views it.

We're at about 50k pageviews per month, at almost 18 months.

Paperbug has received a daily average of 121 Visits, so far in April. But this will be dropping quickly now I'm going offline to prepare a new comic project...

Fireflies of Winter has been getting on average, 44 visits a day, 145 page views a day for this month(after I restarted the comic last month due to a moving overseas hiatus).

However, it's not an easy question to say what a fledgling comic should be getting: your reader base will vary with your comic. For instance, comics with things like naked kissing lesbians will probably get 1,000 visitors a day from the very start.

Ask yourself why you're doing your comic: if it's for fun or because you enjoy it, great. If it's for a ton of readers, maybe you should practice your skills at drawing naked kissing lesbians.

Seriously, don't worry about the numbers. Just do a good comic and try to spread the word through links, exchanges, sig. files, etc. Readers will come with time.

I try, but it's not easy! I do my comic for my soul pleasure but I just can't help thinking 'bout my visit and all!

Ha! This topics back! And I can almost brag now! Woo ha! I average 51 visits a day, thats 155 page views a day thus far for the month of April. That completely demolishes what I was making in March, which was my first month. This really isn't too much, but then I look at my total heavily inflated hits of 650 per day, and do happy dance which resembles disco, except for it being hip and trendy and cool and on top of a comparitively large number of hits (compared to all other webpages I've ever done combined). I'm done now!

biddily wop wop!

53 pages, 22 visits, on average.

Then again, I haven't really been self-promoting all that shamelessly (by the way, read my comic!)

Interesting aside: this is my #6 referrer, after three for various types of direct requests, the forums, and a tie between it and ARG! I have no idea what this site is... if anyone does, please tell me...

Yay! I'm helping! All those referals due to one lil' guest comic, and I'm tied with a site in some foreign language. I think it's klingon. Or latin maybe.

May your comic become really famous, so I can claim to have helped you back in the day. Yay for April Fool's swaps. I need to figure out how to do more cross promotiony thingeys... hmm...

Hmm... how do you tell how many people have gone to your site? The whole hits/pages/visits thing is confusing. I'm pretty sure I get an average 9 people a day. But does that include repeat visitors or what?
