Don't fall into any old "You should use that and you should use this " traps. If you try brush and ink and don't like it or can't get a good feel for it in a week, then move on to something else. It's good to learn it all I suppose. I have expensive rapidograph pens I can refill, but the irony of buying all that crap and 8bucks for one brush is, I get better lines with cheapy Uniball vision pens from Wal-Mart!- I use an Alvin Penstick (india ink disposable) for the really tiny drawings.
As for tips for beginners, I'd just stick with doing a little of everything you can comfortably get your hands on. Then work with what you feel most comfortable with.
D.J. Coffman http://gravity.keenspace.com

I hope you enjoy the ol' ink and brush business! I certainly could never get the hang of it! ^_^
Mike "I could manage a pretty good Watterson Tree though" Leffel

Yeah. I always use pens, myself. I get that indian ink all over the place if I try. It's a large mess... very large.
------------------
I have come to the realization that an advetizement needs a witty message.
Just let me think of one.
