Want hate mail?<P>Join a college newspaper and do a comic that involves thinking about race in any way. Even if you are saying something like "Racism is <I>bad</I>", you <B>will</B> get people fired up at you.<P>Or as in my case a couple of years ago, do a comic that involves a person who <I>happens</I> to be black. The gag was about Mike Tyson, but a printing glitch at the presses made the entire issue too dark. Therefore, my cartoon Tyson came out pitch black with only his eyes and teeth showing. Even after <I>repeated</I> explanations from myself and editors, there were people who were convinced I was copying the racist cartoons of the past by making him "extra dark", and I should immediately be fired.<P>------------------
