First, thanks everyone for the support! Now my cynical two cents:I'd assume the Spot folks are looking for a proven comic, at which point I'd say Boxjam's Doodle or Chopping Block. They seem like the two most talked-about, followed, original, consistent (and daily) strips we've got with us on the 'Space.Now, I'm not dissing anybody I didn't mention (I only dis myself), but I think KeenSpot is the "money-making" big brother in the Keen* line. They're looking for the heavy hitters. Even if a strip kicks ass, it's a matter of convincing advertisers that it can pull in the hits. I'm just going to sit back and wait for the news; whether or not the strips I read are hosted on KeenSpot, I'll still read them.There. That's my little dark cloud for the evening. After the show of support for JB.net, it was the least I could do to poop the party. <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/eek.gif">....um. Doesn't work too well in that syntax, does it?

These ad programs are more a matter of signing up with an ad program, and you just run whatever they send out. If your site(s) get a lot of ads displayed, you get money. The actual advertisers don't have a clue *what* the sites are about, do they? ------------------

I will say as I say everytime this comes up, I think OFFBEAT! should be on there. It's like the Farside if Gary Larson didn't have a censor.Oh, and about the advertisers, as I understand it, they have no clue. Although I think it would probably be a good idea. Absurd Notions had the right idea with sponsors. *nod*------------------

Aw BJ, don't be too hard on yourself. JF is one of THE quality strips on the Space much as Greystone Inn was. That's by no means meant as a knock against anyone else because I also agree that Boxjam and Chopping Block are definately heavy hitters. (shit, if it was meant as a knock it'd be a knock against my comic as well) I'm just saying you don't give yourself enough credit. Although, that tends to be the trend with most artists... we're quite often our own worst critics. Either way, whoever ends up in the coveted Spot slots, congratulations in advance <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/smile.gif">. ------------------

Mine is a niche strip that had a very low relative hit-count when I was spotted--my biggest pre-spot pageload day was 349, and I think that's the day the Big Four surfed my archives one more time just to be sure they really wanted me.Wanna be spotted? Crank out a damn good strip, and do it regularly. Be consistently funny/scary/dramatic (whatever it is your strip is selling). That's what most of you are striving for ANYWAY, right, and a lot of you (Lee, Boxjam...) are doing it better than I am. Man, I'm glad I don't have to decide...
