Real World Success!

I just saw Starline talking about Game of Thrones with Daniel O'Brien on a Cracked video, and remembered when she hung around here, lo, those many years ago.

Comic Genesis may have been totally abandoned and left to rot, but it served as a pretty potent talent incubator back in the day, so that got me thinking that there surely must be some people out there from CG's past who are doing well for themselves. What are people up to these days? Can the old CG community claim a proud legacy?

A bunch of CGers went on to actually make something of themselves with comics, or just drawing in general. I know Komiyan's doing well with her new comic Widdershins, K-Dawg rebooted Angry D. Monkey and a bunch of others like Claude, Sin, Kirb, IV, and Bean are doing pretty well for themselves, or so I hear (from e-stalking people through Dawg because I'm a hermit).

And I... am still starting new comics and abandoning them at awkward points.
I will probably continue to do this for my entire life Image

This is like the webcomic equivalent of listening to music on Vinyl. You might be webcomics first hipster.

While not a big recognized success, I'm working in an animation studio and really loving it.

I have a good job in web dev but nobody knows who I am in wider circles, and someone else is now publishing unrelated fantasy novels under my title. Never became a game dev or a vaunted author, never found a new artist after LL got busy, never learned to draw myself, never got enough traffic to justify continuing on.

I use my web dev monies to support better artists' kickstarters at low levels and I pay exactly one Patreon subscription (Goblins).

The Elven novel, no relation.

I had dreams of changing the world through my artistry, now I mainly shoot food and cars.

It's sad when a man's life turns into Grand Theft Auto.
