Please don't, and I apologize for the rudeness of others. Believe me, I'm extremely grateful for everything you guys have done to keep the site running. My comic has been very important to me over the years, and ComicGenesis has made it all possible. Thank you.

Um... The fact is though, I tried to do a Regular Update almost an hour ago, and it hasn't updated. I came here to the forums to see if anyone had said anything about it, and I saw this post. Sigh.

I hope that I didn't kick over a beehive with my post shortly after the outage, asking just how serious the problems were -- but I think we are all concerned about the health of the site. Over the years, various features have gone down one by one, and these days the CG homepage has several pog circles blank. I mean absolutely no offense by asking this -- because I know maintaining the site is a huge, completely voluntary time commitment that you guys have kept to for at least the near-decade I've been here, which I applaud wholeheartedly -- but what is the current status of ComicGenesis? I would be very happy to stay here indefinitely, provided that the site is reasonably safe and secure.

Anyway, I do hope that you can get the Updater working again soon. Thank you for your efforts, and be assured that they are appreciated.

Well, we could probably buy insurance then rent the place out for underage raves. Those tend to end in torched buildings.

So post something interesting to talk about. Increased activity doesn't automatically translate to increased quality.

When we didn't even do W.A.Y. this year I worried that was going to be the death knell.

Hey, maybe we could still do that sometime this year? Would anybody be up for it? I mean the trouble is we've pretty much all reviewed each other's shit already, but we can just do reviews of how far the person's come in the time since we last reviewed them, if it must come to that. Or do like LC has done in the past and write kind of an alternative piece on the comic.

Yeah, I didn't bother bringing up W.A.Y. since it seems like it'd be underwhelming, and also since it'd be a stretch for me to submit anything at this point. I do have some ideas to completely change the format, though, but that's probably better suited for a separate thread.

Eh... don't like it here, then leave. Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

Some of us still use and enjoy ComicGenesis. I've been on here practically since the beginning in the old Keenspace days. I've received offers from friends to host my comic, but I've stuck with ComicGenesis because I like it.

I thought I'd make a stop by here to see how it is, and I see this. I don't want the forum's final(?) days to be remembered by posts talking about how much of a shIthole the place is. If nothing else, I'd like to see the forum at least last until it's time for Doodles XIII, which is relatively close. It's like calling an elderly person shitty without regards to their accomplishments and life events. CG had jams, yearly meets (even twice yearly at one point), Keenswim/GenSwim, Webcomic Above You and more I'm probably forgetting.

At least the Doodles and Webcomic Above You are still a thing. Also, this is the 15th anniversary (10th as Comic Genesis), which is an impressive run, especially for the Internet. I don't know how many comics are still being hosted and added here, but it can't be all bad if it's still here.

Creating some new threads would be a start. What kind of threads would help make a small community like CG more appealing?

I stick my head in every now and then. These days Twitter seems to be the place to be. A lot of the old community is pretty active there. We chat and organize live-draws and such.

I don't know about everyone else, but I kinda stopped checking in when I noticed that there werent' too many other people checking in ... except to mention problems.

That, and the fact that my forum had at most three people using it.
