Webcomic Above You 2013 - Placeholders
This is the thread for placeholders only. All posts that aren't placeholders, including reviews, go in the Reviews & Discussion thread.
Welcome to Webcomic Above You 2013. As the name suggests, participants will be reviewing the webcomic of the creator whose post is above theirs.
In the past, participants would make an initial placeholder post, and then later replace it with their actual review. This year's W.A.Y. will work a little differently because posts can no longer be edited after a certain time frame. Instead, participants will only be making placeholder posts in this thread, with all reviews and discussion being done in the Reviews & Discussion thread. The content of a placeholder post is completely irrelevant -- it's only there to establish that the participant intends to review the webcomic above them at some point. However, if a participant has multiple active webcomics and has a preference as to which one is reviewed, they should state that preference in their placeholder post. I'll also be updating the Reviews & Discussion thread to keep track of who's reviewing what.
Please read the following guidelines before participating:
1) Reviews should be at least 500 words, with plot summary kept to a minimum. Participants may want to consider writing about one or more of the following topics:
-- What do you think about the website?
-- Are the characters original and interesting?
-- Does the dialogue seem natural and realistic?
-- If there are jokes, are they funny?
-- Is the plot moving at a good pace?
-- Does the story make sense?
-- Is the art style unique, or is it like some other things you've seen?
-- Are there any obvious flaws with the artwork, like anatomical problems, repetitive shots, or a lack of backgrounds?
-- Are there any specific techniques the creator likes to use?
-- Is the lettering stylistically appropriate and easy to read?
-- Is the order of the dialogue and panels clear?
-- Are any of the individual pages or strips particularly noteworthy?
-- Would you recommend this webcomic to someone to read?
2) A participant can make more than one placeholder, although they're expected to write a full-length review for each one.
3) There's no specific deadline for writing reviews, but they should be written reasonably soon after making the placeholder.
4) There's no minimum page count for a webcomic to be eligible to be reviewed.
5) A creator doesn't have to have their webcomic hosted on Comic Genesis to be allowed to participate.
If there are any questions or concerns, feel free to PM me or ask about it in the Reviews & Discussion thread.

Please review my webcomic Freakboy Did a Bad Thing. Thanks!
(As the first poster, I don't have a "webcomic above" to review.)

For whoever plans to review mine- please review Loud Era! But two things:
1. Right now SmackJeeves is having a lot of trouble with images not being able to load, which will likely make your attempts to read through my archive a more arduous process than it has any right to be. Hopefully it will be fixed up by the end of the week. Whoever wants to review mine, I'll send you a PM once everything's up and running again so you ca start reading.
2. Oh-so-conveniently the current chapter I am working on is going to be finishing Monday the 27th. In the off chance you were planning to read it right now and review it might now, you might prefer to wait a few days until the chapters don'e so you can read the whole vignette at once. Up to you, of course, and would be dependent on issue 1 I have mentioned here.

Well, I do love reviewing things. And I really want some feedback on our comic, even though we're only 8 pages in. You can find the comic here. There should still be plenty to talk about for a short review (I'd also like feedback on the lore in the About page), and we'd like to know that we're not working entirely in a vacuum, for better or worse.

Well, I guess Crux can be reviewed, even thought it's on hiatus. I still haven't got to finishing the website yet. ^^"

Eh, sure why not.
My comic is six pages long, if you can make it to 500 words, great, but don't worry about it. Also, I don't care about my website.

Re: Webcomic Above You 2013 - Placeholders
I forgot to say in my original post. I'm currently in the middle of an episode which is in the middle of a story arch. Not the best timing for a review really, but oh well.
If you plan on reviewing only part of my comic I recommend starting here, http://quest.comicgenesis.com/d/20120326.html . That will get you all of the current storyline up until present.

I accept that challenge!djracodex wrote: My comic is willing
And I lay down my own. Sub-Consensus
It's a simple affair, just 18 pages (19 if you stay till after the credits) it shouldn't take long.
