I'm sure many tablet artists have had to replace their grip, or maybe their whole pen, because that awful rubber sleeve. I've had it come off in small strips, but now it has unraveled completely. After searching, I found that the only places that sell just the rubber grip (I don't need 800 more pen nibs, thanks) don't even deliver to my hemisphere.

So, Devs, what can I do for my naked pen? It's an Intuos3 pen with the rocker button. I've wrapped it in duct-tape, and though that works, I'm afraid it will start to gum up and get nasty soon.

Is there anyone that has found a lasting solution? Or a creative failure?

If you can't order them off the Wacom site for your area (depending on where you live) than the only other option I can think of is to keep checking ebay and hope one turns up.

Or get a friend in America to ship one to you.

I've actually been looking for replacement nibs for my pen because it's getting used up. Mine doesn't, but apparently the newer models come with extra nibs hidden inside the pen stand.

In terms of grips, well, I can only think that ebay or amazon have it.

ah ha! I've found a solution that's way better than duct tape - Gel pen grips (the cheapy ones. I found ones with glitter ). They stretched snug around the pen and I could even cut a slot for the rocker button.

Yay no sticky glue fingers! and Yay glitter pen!

I went to the dollar store first, but they didn't have any pen/pencil grips. I ended up getting these guys at walmart. I used 3 1/2. They work much better than I expected, and now my pen is glittery orange.

I got a bamboo3 recently and the nib started wearing out after one day on that stupid paper-like surface. What were they thinking? I had to pack it in some slippery foil and it stopped. Anyone else had this problem? or am just I squeezing too hard

I think it might be you, because I've been using my bamboo for a few years now and haven't had to replace the nib once.

Hah, might be it, my hands are not very artistic I don't know about older models but the newer ones like bamboo3 and intuos4 are said to have a lot rougher surface. It would seem more logical to include some protective pad to give users a choice. Otherwise it seems like they want me to buy nibs every month.

Yeah, what is the chance of a famous surgeon jumping through the window the very same day you decided to become an artist.

I've had my intuos pen for about 8 years now, and only last year did I bother to replace the nib. It was worn down to about a 30-degree slant No wonder the skin on my tablet is looking a little rough. I think I carve in my lines!

Do you folks with pens wearing out tend to use ballpoint pens a lot?

I mostly use pencil and write very lightly. I guess you have to try one of these last generation tablets to believe, barely touching the surface makes an unpleasant scratching sound. Praise the polymers for thick punched pockets... but it looks silly, like an unboxed action figure.

Anyone use the Bamboo stylus for (not exclusively) iPad? The nib on mine wore out quite quickly and i had to buy replacements...I can only assume I draw angrily...
