I suppose I'll end up listening to it but I can't say a Yorke/Flea team-up is quite what I've been hoping for.

Flea has also formed a side-project with Damon Albarn... so there's that...

Considering how long it took me to think of an album I bought that actually came out in 2012, I may be in the wrong conversation, but I did get Infinity Overhead by Minus the Bear, and that's at least a little relevant

Also, Thom Yorke and Flea are working together? What the hell? I'm trying to imagine Radiohead with an upbeat, funkalicious bassline, and it just keeps short-circuiting my brain.

Got to hear Atoms For Peace, sounds like Eraser, except maybe a bit less intimate. There's bass but knowing that it's Flea is not exactly essential information. Mostly Yorke and Godrich.

Went to Soundwave on the weekend, had an awesome time but my legs are still sore and my head's a bit sunburned.
Bands I saw (in chronological order): Crossfaith, Fozzy, Memphis May Fire, Anthrax, Bullet For My Valentine, Sum 41, All Time Low, Paramore, Garbage, Linkin Park, Metallica (about 2 songs before remembering they suck), Blink 182, The Offspring.

Half of those mother fuckers I'm surprised to hear are still around.

I mean, I guess you're right, just figured why have those dudes in the band if you're not gonna use em.

Cause you need a bass player and you happen to know one bass player who wants to get a break from the kind of music he's playing with his main band?

Hey, this is one of the best albums I've heard all year.

The more I listen to STRFKR's new album, Miracle Mile, the more I love it.

I've been listening to a lot of Top 40 pop lately. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I can say that Pink is fucking great, though.

New Bowie and Nick Cave are good. Haven't gotten to Strokes. I've been listening to old Beck albums that I've missed and decided that "Modern guilt" is great while "Information" is meh. Guero is also still meh.

Odelay is probably my favorite.

I agree, it is your favorite.

Felt Modern Guilt was just OK. But I haven't really thought about it since it came out so I can't give you a good lists of reasons why. I'm just right, y'know.

New Strokes isn't bad, it's just.... why bother.

So. Daft Punk.

I'm really trying hard not to let the nonstop cyberwank over them ruin my love of Daft Punk. The internet Hate Machine can really suck the fun out of stuff, but I find that the internet Love Machine is just as tedious to deal with. I haven't heard the new single yet. I'm sure it's great. Now, if Aphex Twin would make a "comeback," I'd be incredibly pleased.

It's a good song, and I'm looking forward to the extended version.

Midnight Vultures FTW! It's the craziest, most inexplicable Beck album. After that, Mutations, which just plain has great songwriting top to bottom. But Odelay is great too.
I didn't like Modern Guilt too much when I heard it first, but I came to like it because it's a different kind of songwriting from what we came to expect from Beck, a whole lot subtler and spacier side of Beck, which he had earlier relegated to folk albums.

New Strokes didn't set me on fire with first listen. Seem weaker than "Angles", which I quite liked. But I'll give it a few more tries.

Odelay > Mutations > Midnite Vultures was a hell of a run.

You can add Sea Change to that run as far as I'm concerned.
