Just got RPG Maker on super sale. Huge mistake. Between comicking and learning how to use this thing, I have missed dinner twice. It's like the first time I played Minecraft all over again.

I got into RPG Maker way back when, during its first incarnation. It was a whole lot of fun, but my projects always ended up too ambitious, and I never finished anything.

It's 10% off on Steam right now, and I think I just got some money. I'm incredibly tempted.

My desktop's old 'n' junky, so I went ahead and got a laptop with decent enough specs for some light gaming. I'm not gonna game with it a lot since I still wanna focus on comics, but it's nice to finally be able to get to play stuff like Skyrim and Diablo III, which my desktop isn't able to run.

The battle speed in Final Fantasy IX is slowly but surely driving me insane.

OH MY GOD YOU GUYS
10 hours over the course of 1.8 years later I HAVE FINISHED AMNESIA

2 hours of actual game play
3 hours of crouched in the corner, facing the wall, out of lantern oil
5 hours of this running away like a maniac

And now there's going to be a sequel. Maybe I won't be such a baby the second time around.

I have been playing the hell out of Divekick lately, at least, when I'm not working on my novel.

I have now hit #1 on the Divekick leaderboards for Markman (above the real Markman!):

The new one has squealing pig monsters instead of generic zombies. Good luck with that not being a baby thing. I know I'm gonna need it

Lol, when I played Amnesia I had 100 over tinderboxes and 8 vials of oil left. at the end of the game. My hoarding tendencies still rile up even in horror games. XD

Anyone watch or even make let's play videos? I'd have to say that a good 3/4 of the stuff I watch any more is gaming shows, like Achievement Hunter or Yogscast. I just saw a funny and entertaining Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs preview play that I really enjoyed featuring James, from Gamefront, and I can't help but think of Pewdiepie, too.

PAST:

Shining Force III

Made it to the end of this epic RPG. Scenarios 2 and 3 were translated by fans are absolutely amazing. Three complete games. Three armies. One epic story. And in the end, it all comes together as you fight one monstrous battle with all three armies. Been waiting fifteen years to play this game, and it was well worth the wait.

PRESENT:

Shining Force CD

Just started. Seems to be the same basic idea, except that it's split into two adventures. A third chapter opens up at the end that lets you combine your two forces. Kind of easy, but that's welcome after the epic game I just played.

FUTURE:

Shining Force II

Having completely immersed myself in this series, I've saved the best for last. Many people have told me that Shining Force II is the best of the series. I can't wait to tackle it.

I have fond memories of Shining Force.

But my current addiction is PayDay 2. I didn't even buy this game. I didn't even WANT this game. I hate playing the bad guys.

But my buddy gifted it to me on Steam and holy crap apparently I am some kind of lethal, hardened criminal deep down because I cannot stop raiding art galleries and diamond stores. I love this game even though we've gotten so good at it that the game has become BAG TOSSING SIMULATOR 2013 as we lob endless duffel bags of stolen lucre from Point A to Point B across a parking lot or mansion, completely unseen.

I picked up a used copy of Fallout: New Vegas this weekend. I've never played a Fallout game before and I wanted to give it a try.

And so began the adventures of Mrs. Fiddlebottom, the elderly asian schoolteacher on a never ending quest to rid Nevada of whippersnappers.
