How long does it take to finish one strip??

*chuckles* It's already turning out to be a graphic novel, by the implications of our conversations about stuff happening later in the story we're roped into this project for the next thousand years.

Not that I'll EVER complain about that. Wheee, fun! :D

Also... dragonmajik... just read through ttg, holy crap... your art is just amazing. :o
Thank you legostar ^__^

Damn, I wish I could work that fast... I would love to get through a page every day I had time to work on one. Then we wouldn't be waiting so long to get to the end of the first chapter. :P

aaaaah, one page every day, an impossible dream for me. Even if I worked full time on this, it takes me 10-12 hours to complete a page (penciling, inking, scanning, cleaning, colouring, lettering).

I'm so slow  (but, reading this thread, I guess that is the average amount of time for a coloured comic, so...not so bad). My problem is that those 12 hours of real work are distributed in a week or so...

Gosh I think drawing, inking, scanning, fixing and lettering. my comic takes about an hour, but it takes longer for me to letter than anything. drawing and inking takes about 20 minutes total. But look at my quality of artwork and you can see my time is being wasted or something. Of course in the old MS Paint days, I can do a strip in as quick as 4 minutes, and that's while holding a beer and chatting on MIRC. and AIM.

geeze im amazed any of you have time to draw with the ammount you post on keenspace ;) .. takes me about 1 hour in school to draw anywhere from 1-20 frames for a comic, then inking takes an hour (my scanner sucks so i have to ink very thick...) and then coloring takes an hour and by then im tired and leave shading and texting.. but if im into it thats about 30 minutes.

soooo ruffly 3-5 hours for a full colored comic,
Ill make one someday

Drawing and inking takes around 1.5 hours, and then scanning, coloring, shading, bubbling, and backgrounding takes up another 1.5-2 hours. Add in a little laziness and it's probably 4 hours total. But I've got a system: on one day I draw two (3 hours), and the next day I do the computer stuff for one (1.5) and the next day I do the other (1.5) and then it begins again.

Working a library desk job means I have a lot of downtime in front of a computer... makes posting in the forums easy. ;)

I too work in front of a computer, so I post a lot when we have slow days. You'll notice most of my posts are during the day because of that.

I'm supposed to be doing a litterature project at home this week, so I post continously.

I can draw two strips in two hours. 8)
Oh yeah. I "write" in the car and draw at night, as a sort of recreation.
Coloring is a huge pain, though. It takes for too long to color such a simple looking comic. I like to just color all them damned things in one shot.
So it probably ends up taking like three hours, even though the pointy bit of comicking is so short.
And then I end up chatting on the forums for far too long.

Must stop FORUMING.

I just made two weeks worth buffer in one afternoon. And it's even fairly well drawn. Envy me!

The comics I'm working on now take place underwater. No backgrounds required! Score!

It varies wildly. I draw them bit by bit over three days or so. Color ones take me a little longer- but the fact I don
