So you've seen her in Court Jester? Second oldest movie in my DVD collection, the oldest if I got rid of my Marx Bros movie. I've convinced people to watch it simply by saying "So old it has hot Angela Lansbury in it." Bonus: Even hotter "mother from Mary Poppins".Warren wrote:Such. Complete. I make a rule not to watch shows that shit on other shows. Too much shit lands on innocent bystanders.
Re: Best Tv Shows
I personally enjoyed The Simpsons-South Park versus Family Guy feud of yore.
Also I just realized I missed my ten year forum anniversary!

Wilfred was totally sucking this season, so I dropped it from my regular viewing schedule and picked up Black Dynamite in it's place. So far it is pretty hilarious.

I haven't seen any of the new episodes/direct-to-DVD movies. Worth checking out?Yeahduff wrote:Finally catching op on Home Movies and Futurama.

The movies were great. The new episodes are pretty cool too, but they lack the charm of the original seasons.

Re: Best Tv Shows
Imo movies were uneven and new episodes are usually lesser, tamer, save for a few really outstanding examples. But all of those are still good and well worth watching, it's not like it has fallen to the depths of mediocrity that Simpsons have reached. If you like Futurama, you should check them out.
Home movies is one of my favourite cartoons because it proves every cartoon voice-over actor currently working wrong: you don't have to overact and overstate everything in order to make animation work. Animation works with much subtler and more natural acting too.

I love home-movies exactly because of the voice-acting, it feels real. And combined with the animation and art style it just creates something....... awkwardly magical. I have no other words for it.McDuffies wrote:Home movies is one of my favourite cartoons because it proves every cartoon voice-over actor currently working wrong: you don't have to overact and overstate everything in order to make animation work. Ever watched Dr. Katz? It's pretty much the same style, but still oh-so-funny.

Re: Best Tv Shows
I generally like Dr Katz, but Jon Benjamin's character in there is effectively killing the show every time he's on screen. Also it always bothered me how most of psychiatric sessions sound suspiciously like stand-up routines. Still funny though.
There is also "O'Grady", made by the same people, not improvised like Home Movies and Dr Katz, but still very good.

That's because they were. At least the ones I've seen (admittedly, I've only seen a handful of episodes) and the patens were all comedians doing bits from their acts.McDuffies wrote:Also it always bothered me how most of psychiatric sessions sound suspiciously like stand-up routines.
