Lasting a long time is one thing. Not updating is another. If it were updating regularly, I doubt there would be any complaining because then we could at least see progress.Risky wrote:I'm going to be surprised when one of the KeenLace volunteers replies to this thread again... it's full of people who really need their attitudes adjusted. KeenLace lasting a long time is a good thing.
Consider it like a web comic. The goal is to update on a schedule to make your fans happy. Now suppose your favorite web comic was very inconsistent in posting, even though you knew that it had 50 strips drawn, scanned, and waiting to go up. The comics were ready, they just weren't being posted. I find that irritating myself.

I completely agree, and I think I've made the same suggestion. It would make sure we update on time, and it would bring more people to the site since they would be visiting every Monday through Friday rather than once every two weeks.Sasjhwa wrote:Yeah, I didn't realize this was going to go on for months and months. I don't know if I've said it before. In the future each entry should be given a date and loaded into the auto updater and forget the waves all together. If there are 30 entries it will take a month and it will be done.

Look. I'm sorry this hasn't gone smoothly, and I'm not the most qualified person to run this, but no one else was jumping up and down volunteering to run it. This is more work than it looks like, far from "just waiting to go up." And Keenspace has been broken for the past week! I know you want this to update, so do I. But it takes a distant fifth to paying rent, going to school, updating my own ignored comic, and maintaining a personal life. If you have different priorities, KeenSwim or whatever we're calling it these days is coming up and can use a host. Or maybe we'll skip it again this year because no one's interested in running it. Couldn't blame em.
Now if you're still interested, we're finishing this next week or the week after. Again, I am sorry this has been drawn out, and your frustration is understandable. The waves are fine, but sticking to a twice a week update schedule would've made this managable and we all could've gone on with our lives long ago. It's my fault, but again, I'm really busy and someone needed to do this. We're going to finish this soon. Just a little more patience, please.

I'll be happy to help you out. I'm a stay at home dad with a lot of time on my hands.

Just remember, the idea about KeenSwim is that it's more than just swimwear - it can be any kind of summer activity - because otherwise it falls too close to the old BiKEENi thing that Keenspot used to do (which Keenlace was originally a response to).geekblather wrote:If you waa-aaant, you should submit to KeenSwim, after all- bikini- bra and underwear-- is there really such a difference?

I suppose, but then Keenlace and KeenSwim would be too similar to each other. KeenSwim can give those who don't want to (or can't) do something fanservice-y an opportunity to participate.
