What's the motivation behind that blocking?
We aren't sure. The best theory we have is that a comic's forum hosted here was uploading a lot of porn to imageshack and posting on that forum; porn is against imageshack's TOS so they did a blanket block on the CG forum entirely.
Must be nice to be doing so well that you can turn away and alienate so many customers.

Imageshack sucks anyway. I get better performance from photobucket.

Hmm... I wonder if we could contact them... I really like Photoshack's Quickload feature. Right-click and upload straight to the net. Photobucket hates me with the fiery passion of a thousand suns. :P

What kind of swimsuits do you have in Utah!? :o

They eventually ban pretty much any messageboard that is using them to link pictures...this isn't the first forum I've posted on that got on their banned list. In fact pretty much *every* forum I've posted on eventually gets banned.

...What's the point of their service, then, if not to provide free images to the slobbering masses? *headdesk*

Not sure...but I'm guessing since it's a) free and b) you don't even need to sign up to use it, they need to be pretty vigilant in finding ways to limit the number of people using them so they're not constantly overloaded. Blanket banning messageboards is a good way of doing that.

Hmm... good point. What's the company behind ImageShack, anyone know?

1) I'm currently chained up by the Evil Overlords
So what does you being chained got to do with anything? You gonna pose? after all YOU ARE a character now... I could enter YOU into this.. bwhahahahaha
2) I'm not the artist...
but *I AM*
3) She is already pretty pissed, and doing this to her would probably cost me limbs... :-?
After being in just a disappearing towel...AND showing her butt to the world, I think Scale might actually *like* this one....

I shall enter! And it shall be glorious! But wonders Sketchy, are the submissions based on artistic style, or like all pageants, is this about beauty and popularity? (for the characters, not the poster)

If I was thinking of entering more then one character (in different categories of course) would I need to submit them all at the same time or does it matter as long as they get submitted before deadline?

It doesn't matter as long as they are before deadline.
...and, absolutely, don't even think of submitting them all in a sole post!

I want to see Three-Armed Joe in the "Thing" competition, but you have a lot of things to choose from.

Would my characters have any chance if I've only been active for about a month? I assume that the established characters will be the heavy favorites to win... but entering this contest sounds fun and like a good way to get one of my guys and one of my gals some good exposure.

I'd like to say that the contest is based entirely on skill and character design, but yeah, it's a popularity contest.

That being said, however, its a great form of free advertising.
note: any l337 used in the previous post was used ony to avoid the poster's Cybersitter. Image

In previous years the whole thing has always been done for the purpose of having fun. What changed?
