It's up for approval but it doesn't have any transparency. If it goes on the front page, it'll be a circle inside a black square.

The red also goes outside the circle. You can submitt it like that if you like but it may cause it to be rejected. Depends on the GTC.* Image

So how exactly do we find out if our Chan has been accepted or rejected? Will they just dissapear from our site-admin section if they've been rejected? Or are submissions through our site-admin not being used anymore?

We'll PM you if it's rejected or if it requires technical tweaks. We're still working things out, though, and I'm sure my odd timezone doesn't help matters.

The submissions will continue to go through your siteadmins, no change at that!

I'd like to mention that we have not, as of yet, enforced our right to delete chans, so the ones that you are seeing in rotation now are not officially approved of by the committee; there are a few formal details to take care of before we will actually start deleting things.

Also, all gen-chans that have been submitted after Merc's chan are in "pending" mode and will not be in rotation before they are either approved or rejected by us, and we will have to collect votes from all three of us before that can happen.

Edit: Dang, Joel beat me to it! :P But yeah, you will get a PM sent to you by an appointed volunteer from the GTC if your gen-chan is being rejected or if some adjustments need to be made for it to be approved.

P.S.: Timezones are indeed interesting in this committee, we have Australian, European and Canadian. Notice the lack of Americans? Not that it really matters to me, since I don't sleep.

eh, Canadians and Americans are essentially the same, except Canadians seem to be less annoying in general

A few of the chans have little blurs of grey at the very top for some reason. Not all, just some.

Yeah, I pointed that out way back. We think it was the original version of Joel's genchan template that had the fault so all the oldest Genchans have it.

So it's in the directory, if I understand correctly.

Make it stop, it looks horrible :(

I kinda miss knowing who drew the genchans.. But yeah, people would see it as a promo tool. Is there a compromise?

The alt tag is so fun to mess around with...

I understand the alternate text is the compromise.

You mean Firefox doesn't let you view the alternate text by right-clicking the image and selecting "properties" like Mozilla?

You can view the alt-text that way, however, title-text would be preferable.

It does, it's just a roundabout way of doing it, really.. But yeah, that's cool.

I just submitted a new version of my pog, since the first one had transparancy issues in IE. It is otherwise identical to my old one. So how's this gonna work? When (If? :o ) my new pog gets approved, will the old one be deleted? Will that happen automatically or does someone need to do it manually? I don't imagine it's possible for just anyone to double up on pogs just like that?

Been a long time. I lost the job that allowed me to cruise the forums all day, and since then I haven't stopped in much, I'm afraid. I dig the setup on the front page... but I'm not sure how one would go about making a "pog" - and the first page of this forum doesn't seem to be working any more. The links lead me to a window that says:
Object not found!
The requested URL was not found on this server. The link on the referring page seems to be wrong or outdated. Please inform the author of that page about the error.
So... um... how DO I make one?

Okay, my chans were both rejected after initial acceptance, so before I go about designing new ones, I need to know what's considered acceptable.

Now, the PM pointed to the Wiki, but the Wiki's guidelines seem to contradict what's been accepted. For instance, it talks about the base of the template being ground level, but many of the chans don't place the eye straight; many have a rounded (natural) view rather than flat-faced, and War's fantastic one is a top-down view.

There are also chans currently up that cut off on top and bottom, have clashing colors to the site design, and have line-aliasing greys.

So, is the Wiki just randomly taken to, or is it not up-to-date? I want to know before I start on another chan so I have a fair shot at it being accepted.
