Character sketches.

If anyone is so inclined: tips on drawing that "surprised!" pose? Also, does this look pretty consistent? I'm worried about hairstyle changes panel-to-panel mostly so external input on how these different angles look would be helpful.

Yeah, he seems pretty consistent. I'd say the only one of those where I might not recognize him as being the same character would be the one where he's directly facing us, but that's if I'm being really picky.

I'll let someone else further critique the surprised pose though, I think it looks good but I'm also award-winningly mediocre at drawing my own body language.

the hair looks fairly consistent. as for the surprised pose. first the left elbow should be a little higher. the forearm should either be level or pointing down. the right elbow should be moved out from the body with the right hand pointing up.
the eyebrows should be raised more and pointed up in the middle. its okay to exaggerate the eyebrows even with a realistic style.
also curving the spine outwards towards the left would help, he looks a little stiff. hope this helps :D

Isn't that what all fanart is for?
now that you mention it that does seem true. though there is sucking up and Sucking up

Been away for a while, had to quote this from two pages back for being AWESOME:

Been in sort of a redrawing mood lately, picked a piece of garbage out of my dA gallery to do-over.

Still many issues - this was a really horrible pose and a worse angle. My main problem lies with the feet, although I know the body and legs could have been positioned better.

I always love seeing how people's styles change over time.

Of all the one's I've done, this one I am least satisfied with. That said, it came out a lot bette than I thought it would when I started it.

Shadowrun figurine! Modded from a Reaper orc mini. I added the cloak, feathered hat, some ornaments, the gator hand, and turned his ax into a polearm.

Poor Humbug can't show her face anywhere anymore without getting tackled or eaten.

Shame on you MM for hogging other people's artmeats when you have enough of yours to begin with. :x

Wait wait wait... That wasn't a doodle. That was actual art.

i'm not sure you're very familiar with Humbug. For her, that WAS a doodle.

I don't think you need color. it looks pretty awesome in grey scales.
