Still there's a visible gap where you started. And for some reason circle comes out weird looking when you start from bottom. I also do that with S and many other letters, and they all end up weird looking.

I have a great preference for handlettering in comics. Making computer font lettering jive with the artwork is really really hard and it really bugs me that so many people don't seem to realize this. When reading a comic, it shouldn't even occur to me to note whether the lettering is hand done or computer done. It needs to be seamless and suited to the artwork, however you do it. Far too often in comics, it is immediately obvious that the lettering was done on the computer and it looks god-awful and pasted on. I think even imperfect handlettering is better. It's drawn with the same hand as the artwork, so it suits it.
Well done computer lettering with a font can be done, but it takes a lot of consideration for what would best go with the art work.
If you really have no confidence in your hand lettering, A good middle ground to avoid too perfect pasted on word balloons is to hand draw the balloons, and then type in the lettering. Just be sure to pencil in the words first to be sure they'll all fit right.
