People always complain about how characters are paired in things like this. That said...what on earth are they thinking? I cannot detect much rhyme or reason to it. The Spirit vs Batman thing is just...wow. And other matchups...like Hellboy vs Daredevil. I guess they both have a demonic form, but...I guess I don't understand what their basis for the duels is.

I think they were putting simular "style" characters. people who like one usually like the other... but I gotta say... Hulk Verse aquaman was pretty random.

I think that was "The Evil That Men Do" story-line, which I never finished reading so I can't really comment on. But if Wikipedia is to be believed the whole thing was quite a black mark on his record.

I still like his stuff in general though.

I have a theory, now bear with me, it might be a bit outlandish, but here it is:

All female comic characters were once raped.

I'm worried that the Religious Right is gonna freak if Jesus doesn't win the contest. First, we'll see massive international riots, and then we'll see bombings. Lots and lots of bombings.

Frankly, giving Marvel or DC the accolades just isn't worth it.

I have a very good friend who happens to 1. be a girl (no, we are not in a relationshiop. yet.) and 2. Major comic fan. She asked me to respond to Mcduffies statement with a phrase that I will reprint here, censoring the worst parts:

Unfortunatley, I didn't hear the rest of it because the intensity of the swearing made my ears bleed.

There needs to be a site totally devoted to this sort of subject. It would have a massive list of superheroes and other powerful fictional characters (like Mcduffies- you don't think he actually exists, do you?) and forums where those who wish to do so could endlessly discuss the merits of said characters, whether it was in a one-on-one fight or along the lines of the Ultimate Showdown. Once word of the site got around, millions of geeks clogging boards elsewhere would migrate to that site, clearing up room for everyone else to discuss other things.
That said, Deadpool is the best. Because he can break the laws of reality. Specifically, the 4th one.

I googled "character battles" and Jim is right. Its far nerdier then the nerdiest thing you could imagine. I thought I was matching up pretty well until I saw a matchup inbetween a Mad Cat MK II mech and Iron Monger.
I can't compete with that.
