Ahhh...so 'Buttons' = 'Badges' here in Britain.
I never knew that!
Tell me, what do Americans call our 'buttons?' (the button fastners on shirts and coats and whatnot)
(sorry for being off topic)
Best source for pins/buttons?

I usually call the things with the sharp thing on the back "pins" (which is of course also what you call the straight pointy thing used in sewing, or on bulletin boards, which of course is also called pushpins or thumbtacks, but I digress) but that's probably regional--many regional differences on other words, too

A 'button' can be pretty much any round thing... or a clickable mostly round thing... But a 'badge' is generally made out of embroidered cloth and sewn or ironed onto clothing... And a 'pin' is usually small and irregularly shaped with a pointy thing in the back. At least the way I use the terms...
