How many have comics in their buffers?

When my comic started I had a buffer of 8 comics. Now I have none. It gets stressful at times but that's my own fault for being lazy.

My buffer fluctuates between 3 and 4 comics. My site updates on Fridays, and I usually get a strip from the artist every Monday or Tuesday.

When I first started the comic I was too excited not to draw a whole bunch of strips at once. Plus there was that handy lag period of trying to actually build the site, and the time it takes to get the site recognized gave me time to draw myself a good month and a half of buffer. I actually didn't post everything right away, I set it up to run, so that I could work on some other things, and keep working on the site and how I produce the comic, and I think using that time to work on my style really helped.
Then I went into a period of zero buffer, in that I was drawing the comic at midnight the day it was supposed to post. I'm trying to get some kind of a buffer back, so, right now I'm working a couple of days ahead. Buffer, here I come!

Last year (when I was updating 3 times a week) I had anywhere from a month to 6 weeks buffer...I slowly lost it as we went into the busy part of the tourist season...over the winter I managed to get it back up to about 3 weeks...but now that I started work it's dwindled back down to a weeks worth of strips (2).

I started out with about a four page buffer? I think? But then I used to be stupid, and try to keep the buffer, so I would want to update late anyway. Which was silly. But now I have no buffer at all, and it would've been pretty nice if I did have one, seeing as these next three weeks will probably be a litle too hectic for me to put out a page.

I currently have a buffer of one comic, but that's only cause I skipped Fridays update... after Monday I'll be back to none as always.

I missed my first update yesterday since I came back, and that's been like three straight months of seven comics a week. I just drew two more a few minutes ago, but I've been feeling a bit burnt out lately. I think because I hate drawing and writing storylines, and I put myself in a corner. Eh. Maybe I should step back and take a break?

I currently have, let me count, 80 comics ready to go. Now before you get excited most of them are 3 years old. I thought about getting most of them up then update as needed but I don't draw as much as I used to so I needed to get back into the habit of drawing. These were my original submissions to syndicates. 30plus rejections later... I decided to just put them up online then shortly after getting a launch date I discoverd there is a whole world of webcomics. It's getting smaller...

I actually have a lot of Kill'er now comics drawn but unscanned because I didn't have time to scan and letter and all. But LWK, I always draw at the last moment, or later.

if I'm going on a holiday or sometihng... then I can scrape together a good week or two's worth of buffer in a few days

i mean - two, three hours per comic.... I could in theory do at least two a day...

I usualy make my comics about an hour or so before deadline, finishing an hour or so after deadline.. then updating

My comic updates on weekdays and currently I have... no buffer. I write and draw day to day because if I actually had a large buffer, I might get lazy and get nothing done. End of the buffer rolls around and I have nothing. A small buffer of 2 or 3 comics might be more manageable, though.

I have a weird kind of progressive buffer. Currently, I've got four comics scanned and uploaded...fourteen more with the foregrounds inked (I'll do the backgrounds on seven of them this coming week)...and twenty-one more penciled. I don't know why I work this way, but as it hasn't yet ended in horrible disaster, I'll probably continue.

I managed to get my shit together this weekend, and I currently have a week's worth of buffer. Granted, that's only three strips, but each one takes me about four hours, so I'm proud of myself. Hopefully I'll be able to stay ahead for a little while.

Today's page just updated and I have 14 days worth of buffer waiting. I'm hoping to keep ahead all the time by at least 5 but, you know... the best laid plans of mice and men.

GOD, people who have comics in their buffers, and are just waiting for them to pop out on their front page.

Heee.... hee.... you think you just have to wait for it to show up? Oh no. People with buffers still have to draw their comic like they don't have a buffer at all. It's the only way you actually *keep* a buffer. Buffers save you from emergencies or really off days, but they don't give you more free time at all.

(I have a 3 week one. And I'm dying trying to get my month buffer back...)

I have never ever had a buffer. I have 2 jobs, and do a toon once a week for the local paper, and my wife and 3 kids get a lot of my attention. If I want to update Cooties even once a week, I have to wake up at 4:30 a.m. most mornings and do it before work.

I let my wife know that I plan to participate in 24-hour Comics Day in October. Yes, I have to plan that far ahead to have a day to myself! We'll see about buffers then...
