What is your scariest convention experience?

I've only been to one semi-con and there wasn't anything scary about it. We'll see if I get a scary con story from CN expo.

When you work for DC Comics, they make you work the booth. So I'd say that was the scariest experience because this made me interact with the people that I normally avoid at these things.

I got lost in Charlotte for HeroesCon 2005 and nearly ran into some guy's hatchback, but on the whole, my convention experiences have all been good ones. And I've staffed!

This experience wasn't so much scary as it was kind of disturbing. I sat in on a discussion panel with Vic Mignogna (Ed Elric), Steve Blum (Spike from Cowboy Bebop, among others) and a room full of hardcore anime fans. Their questions ran the gamut from the respectable ("How did you get into voice-acting?", etc) to the downright inane ("If Spike could do any girl from the anime universe, who would it be?", "Naruto or Final Fantasy?").

PS. When addressing the panel, don't begin with "Hey, I've got a question for you." Duh, that's why you were handed the microphone.

at Trinoc Con, loosing the key to my hotel room, and having no idea where my roommate is so I cant get a hold of her, then having to beg con staff to help mefind a place to crash that night, and finally the one who DID let me sleep in his room turns out to be a polyamourous guy who insisted I sleep in his bed and that if his wife were at the con she'd want to watch

Er... why not just go to the hotel desk in the lobby and ask for another key or someone to let you in?

tried that, turns out my roommate forgot to actually tell the hotel staff that I would be staying with her so I wasnt in their records

Unless they were in a snuggle pile, you're wimps. Snuggle piles scare me, but individual furries are cool. :)

Dang, cons are dangerous places! I'm mostly just scared by the crowds. And the people I try to avoid but know I can't. I only go to wimpy little UK cons though.

Furries are always scary, what with thier <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gmRzYIULAE">berry gathering and hole digging."</a>

Seriously, anyone who gathers berries is just... SICK!!

Scariest con experience but also greatest con experience... I was the con chair of the first OhayoCon.

I manned a booth once, but it was for someone else, so I didn't have people scrutinizing my art and making me feel inadequate for not drawing out-of-character love-matches for various Inuyasha characters. Also, no one has ever glomp-attacked me or bowled me over with their massive fanboy girth... I'm lucky, I guess.

And actually, some people come up with really awesome costumes. I will never forget the guys who cosplayed as a Nintendo and a Gameboy at the last Anime North, complete with music. XD

When it's creative and original like that, there's almost nothing wrong with it.

For me, it would be the overweight, six foot tall black man I saw Cos-Playing as Inu-Yasha a few years ago at AX.

I danced with fursuiters. It was a lot more fun than dancing with drunks at a bar.
