Absolutely! Short stories, a serial story, a novel-in-progress that I need to finish (it sits at about 40 pages on my computer), I love writing.

Yep, professional writer, since I was a wee little bugger. Currently I'm illustrating to a novel idea I've been writing out and well... I thought it would make a better graphic novel than book. (IE, I got lazy.)

Um...like...do I really need to say it?

I've got at least three ideas I'm working on, currently, and five that I ought to work on just because the worlds are so promising. These would be novels if I would ever stop starting over every single time and just write.

And short stories that are mostly unmentionable. Please. Don't mention them.

Oh heck yeah.

I was a writer first. Started my first novel when I was 15... and proceeded to practice on it for the next 15 years (the first 4 chapters of which can be found here.

My current webcomic started as a short story first (one that got workshopped when I took classes at the Uni) and that can also be found here.

And probably after I'm too old/tired/in-pain to draw I'll probably still be writing -- writing is fun :D ~!

I have written a bunch of half-assed short stories, a small number of fully assed poems, and I am writing a novel which I hope will not be assed at all.

And by "fully assed", I mean angsty teen

I have three novels I'm working on, countless short stories, and a hell of a lot of odd poetry.

Well, I haven't had anything published yet... but I'm working on it. At the moment I've got three short stories I'm waiting to hear back from various magazines about, and a novel that's finished except for one final phase of polishing and rewrites, after which I'm going to start trying to shop it around to agents.

A musical that I wrote was actually performed once... in a rural town in Spain, by people who for the most part had probably never seen a musical in their lives. It was... interesting. But that's a long story...

Hmmm, too many poems to count, a few published.
I've written lyrics, had some performed, performed one ocapella(sp?) myself in front of a paying audience (terrifying experience actually).
Lots of short stories, most toward the fantasy/adult genre, a few are still around on some adult sites.
I have about 5 or 6 novels in progress hanging around, my main one that I'm writing I work with on and off is about 280 pages so far, about half way through.

Writing is..fun.

No. None. Nadda.

Can't write storys to save my life, every story I create consists of pictures, movement and sounds, I can't imagine things very well in terms of language. I occasionally do the odd in-depth review and analysis of something or another (I used to do reviews of comics here to keep in practice, I just haven't bothered with the new forum though), I love poking holes in things.

Should really try a story some day. Perhaps. Maybe.

I keep trying to tell people that stories are not made of words. LAG, you are probably in a better position than many of us to write good stories. I tried to explain it in the "Professional Development" thread. viewtopic.php?t=58179 But, I later found a George Orwell quote which explains my position well.

"In prose, the worst thing one can do with words is to surrender to them. When you think of a concrete object, you think wordlessly, and then, if you want to describe the thing you have been visualizing, you probably hunt about till you find the exact words that seem to fit it. When you think of something abstract you are more inclined to use words from the start, and unless you make a conscious effort to prevent it, the existing dialect will come rushing in and do the job for you, at the expense of blurring or even changing your meaning. Probably it is better to put off using words as long as possible and get one's meaning clear as one can through pictures or sensations."

I write Sonic the Hedgehog fan fiction, and I've done a couple of short original pieces.

I'm also in the (sadly very slow) process of writing my next webcomic, a vidgame RPG storyline, and about a hundred other half-baked ideas running around in my various notebooks.

I used to write for a CCG website and it's magazine when I was fifteen.
You might heard of it - it's called Pojo.

Anyway, I still write, but it's usually just lyrics and stuff.

I don't really write beyond what I do for comics. I'm much better at combining the visual stuff with story than relying on words. I'm not a particularly horrible writer...it's just not my thing. I wrote a poem once that I was proud of. That's a rarity.

Oh, I write.
I can't not write... :o ... I have a pen and some sort of paper with me at all times. Though I only have a couple promising stories, a couple of which are finished and in the process of editing. The rest are false starts, meaning I had a cool idea but no plot to form around it.
I've got comics coming out the ears, too.. And some really bad poetry.

I wrote a several-page long poem about monkeys once. Though it was more of a story that rhymed every other line.

Yey writing.

I actually have some short stories I've been wanting to submit somewhere for publication, but I'm not really sure where I would send them to.

No way! Mine was like...35 minutes long! Well, they're nothing alike. Mine is about Pong as an addiction but more of a generic story about a Pong tournament and a man out to avenge the death of his father (who he killed but didn't know it). It's actually a comedy with a basic story, but most of the jokes come from sheer ridiculousness.

If you're serious about this, you might try the Writer's Market - the online version offers extensive listings by category of magazine and book publishers, among others, for as little as $2.99 a month, or $29.99 annually with a 30-day money-back guarantee. (I should add, though, that I've never actually used the online version myself; I have a copy of the old-fashioned paper version. Also, I honestly haven't gotten much use out of it, because my stories are science-fiction and fantasy, and there are other places to find out about markets for those (such as the SFWA site). But it's the first thing that came to mind. If it's anything like the paper version, by the way, it should also include not only a list of markets, but also guidelines for how to submit manuscripts - proper formatting, cover letters, etc. - which you may find very useful if you're not familiar with the process.)
