I got my apartment in Los Angeles. I'm leaving for the west coast on monday. Downside is I'm not sure when I'll be getting internet service. but hopefully it won't be to long before I get hooked up.

I tried to spit on my head, but it landed 2 feet behind me. What a pity. :(

Welcome to the West Coast, Phact!! Los Angeles is a HUGE expanse, with lots of little neighborhoods full of history. I recommend that when you can, just drive around and see the different areas nearby. You'll learn the freeways soon enough, though remember the 405 is just about always a parking lot.

oh I lived in LA a few years back. but yes, it is pretty big and having a good idea of where places are is a godsend. and even then its still a bit hard to get around ha ha.

BTW thanks everyone. I'll miss people when I'm without internet.

So today I test drove a Mini Cooper. And I'm sold, this is going to be my car when I get back to Germany. Namely the Mini Cooper Clubman S (for supercharged). I said I was getting a BMW, and since they own Mini, I'm technically holding true to my word.

are you sure you don't want to look at Volkswagen ... they own Audi and are owned by Porsche

I've looked at VW and none of their sedans really struck me as what I wanted. Plus, they don't come in green. I saw the British Racing Green option...and it was pretty.

What's with the ads that highlight things in peoples' posts? Does anyone else see those, or has some kind of horrible ad software burrowed into my desktop?

Other people have been getting them, too. It's been mentioned in the admin forum but I don't know what the status is on getting rid of them.

It's something I got so confused over, I Googled it. It's another ad thing for the forums.

I've got em too, and they are super annoying, because they make it well nigh impossible to read whater word the thing chooses to highlight.

also, I disike the weather, as it is hot and humid.

While everyone in the building was asleep, I got to face two fires, a CO2 danger, saw a stack of highschool kids get arrested, and generally had a good time.

I love my kids, I really do. My son is awesome, my daughter's the belle of my eye... but damn, they're EXPENSIVE.

I sat down last night and did the math. I'm currently paying more for daycare than I am for my FRIGGIN MORTGAGE. Though at least this tells me that, after Madison turns 4 and starts into school, I can start paying double on my mortgage.

Sheesh.
