Re: What made YOU happy today?
After being drawn and quartered by a bunch of zombies fighting over me. my body will tear apart and my head would seperate and strangely land ontop of a fence spike with a tight cover shot that slowly pans down showing blood running down the fence, then we dissolve to black.

Re: What made YOU happy today?
I am happy.
I had all of last week off chilling with the missus. Went to movies and averted my eyes for the majority of Woman in Black (not entirely sure why I let her take me to see that). Spent the day in Chester, took lots of pictures of squirrels as any who's "watching" me on dArt will have seen.
And now all the stuff I ordered with some Christmas money has arrived so I have the new Fireflight album, Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Layton: Mysterious Village, and, most excitingly, The Last Story. I am loving this game, so good to have a new JRPG to play again, which I haven't been able to get on the Wii.
Anyway, as I said: Happy.

Re: What made YOU happy today?
A while ago, after many years of faithful service my trusty lexan fork broke. It was very tragic, as I had used that fork for many a camping trip and pretty much every meal all through college. And even after I graduated it continued to shove food in my face on a regular basis.
I was heartbroken, and I thought that I would never love again. But after several months of grieving, I've come to terms with my loss and I think I'm ready to move on.
Everyone, I'd like you to meet Titanium Spork.

I know it's still early in the relationship, but I think she could be the one.

At first I thought you said the title of this infamous comic. I wondered what comparison you were making, but then I rebumbled my brain.McDuffies wrote:It's like that cartoon, CatDog...

This makes me prouder than it should.IVstudios wrote: Post like these (and your affinity for avatars of varying gender) are the reason I wasn't sure if you were a boy or a girl until I met you in person.
For some context, the OP had gone around copy/pasting the exact post she made right before mine in at least a dozen people's self-promotion threads, you know, the place where they're free to pimp their own comics. Kind of a dick move. Then the chick with the bad english came along to her defense, which I thought was hilarious because she had done the same thing about a week or two prior despite many people asking her to stop (some of which even sent her private messages).
I want people to read my comic! I KNOW! Let me alienate all my potential readers!!!

Re: What made YOU happy today?
How dare you have a link to your comic in your sig?!?! That little banner is far more intrusive than posting obnoxious "read mine I'll read yours" messages all over the place!!!VeryCuddlyCornpone wrote:Lmao. Here's the thread. I'm the one that's me. That person wouldn't last five minutes here on the CG but I think they'd make for some good drama/entertainment
Does a lot of that "read mine I'll read yours" go on over there? Personally I'd prefer people read mine because they actually wanted to.

Re: What made YOU happy today?
I agree with you Scoob, but most of the people posting this nonsense seem to be at an age where actual readers don't matter and they only care about fan count. I hadn't noticed much of it going on, it's just been recently that a few of this has cropped up. I think we lucked out of that here because there's no visible-to-all way to know how many readers/fans a comic has. For some people there it's a popularity contest as opposed to a meaningful way to see the demographics and types of people who read your comic.
Yeah, I really wanted to delve further into the irony of the person calling me out for linking in my sig, but I figured the effort would be futile. They already think I am a mean mean man and therefore are going to write off anything I say in the future. You know, since obviously the person who's been there a year and a half is wrong and misguided, while the pure pure intentions of the noob will shine through to righteousness

Re: What made YOU happy today?
Getting hit up to pitch anothernthology piece this time "what if US Presidents were pulp Heroes". Also gonna check out this local band out next week, as they are interested in me coming in and jamming with them, as they need a new guitarist. I imagine that they are a deathrock band, and they are getting regular shows, so it'd be nice to play out again. We'll see if its something I want to be a part of.

Re: What made YOU happy today?
Hah that's funny because Cuddly is almost as nice as Phact.
So that's how we lost that.
We had them and there were problems about it. At one time we had $keenbucks which were a sort of theoretical and not very accurate calculation of how much money your comic was earning (usually very low numbers, like a few bucks a month). Then there were many requests by people to be handed that money and even lawsuit threats I think. To their mind, CG was telling them "you are actually making this money" - never mind that it was clearly stated that this amount was theoretical and that TOS that they signed was clear on owners of the site keeping the revenue, if any (duh!).I hadn't noticed much of it going on, it's just been recently that a few of this has cropped up. Re: What made YOU happy today?
Oh wow! That's what those things were. I had heard of them but never knew they served an actual purpose. I thougth they were like "points" of some sort.
FWIW, you can't see other people's actual stats or exact popularity on SJ, just the number of people who have become "fans" of the comic. And you can look at how full comment sections are underneath comics, gives an idea whether someone has padded fans or whether they're actual returnign readers who are invested in the story.
