I haven't done an Illustration Friday entry in quite a while, and I really missed doing them. So I did one. This week the topic was "Freeze."

Sucks to be that guy -- though I'm glad he managed to avoid the usual problem of shrinkage ;)

You should have seen him before he was frozen.

Yeah, their lack of facial features was really weird at first, but then I realized that their heads are pretty much just skulls with skin and eyebrows.

Oh, and I forgot to mention it, but in this redesign, I deliberately made their craniums much smaller than humans'. I think that part actually seemed more counterintuitive than the noses.

Redoing bits of Darken for a book, kinda nice to see the comparisons. 2006 or so vs 2012.

Oh I see, you re-did a few lines, mostly the face.

Well, waffle fries and chicken sandwiches are good, media feeding frenzies are not.

Working on the website. How's this for replacing my old logo?

Well, unless you're drastically switching genres, I'd say it looks a little too blood drippy. Would make a decent logo for a comic about bugs that eat your skin though.

LOL!

Damn! I was trying to go for the "graffiti-on-the-wall" effect, but I guess I was too heavy on the paint. What about if I clean up the drippage? Or should I chuck it altogether and start over? Maybe I should have a contest to design the new logo...

Why not start out with different colour schemes and see where that takes you?

Yeah, a different color than red would probably fix the problem.
