I have the same sentiment. Whenever I'm actually trying to draw a character with large breasts, I have to remind myself to make them larger, and even then they end up much smaller than an average female character from mainstream comic. Could it be that I'm used to... drawing them... realistic size? Yet it seems like everyone else in the world draws these ginormous beach balls with more ease than the small ones.MixedMyth wrote:well, she is a catgirl.drawing really large breasts is surprisingly difficult, I have to say. it feels so unnatural.

I don't draw large breast because i think they're sexy. some times to make a drawing work you have to exaggerate the features. but i think a lot of people take it to far and the rest of their work suffers.

You guys don't know what large breasts are until you watch an episode of Queen's Blade.

To me the most notorious example outside of manga is Battlechasers. Drawing boobs bigger than heads as a gag or character trait is one thing, but drawing all adult females like this routinely and pretending as if there's nothing odd about it, it's just creepy.

Thankfully, I am totally aware of my boob size threshold.

Whenever I see that picture (or pretty much any of Liefield's stuff), I want to draw a second head over the front half of the chestal region because it looks like it's supposed to be two gents standing very close together, and then someone thought it looked gay and erased one of the heads.

It always seems like Captain America got incredibly fat. Like, scrap the beer belly, here's beer torso. Of course he probably has impossible spine curve behind that shield, but that's not visible.

I find it looks more like that's a fridge with Cap Am's skin stretched over it, and someone left the door open. Cause like, the chest isn't even jutting out, it looks like the back is angled in one direction, and the chest is angled to another.

I mean, I'm pitching stones from a glass house, but Liefield totally botched the perspective in that drawing. It's like he couldn't decide whether to go 3/4ths or just a standard side view, so wound-up combining them both. The part that really weirds me out about it is that the rest of it looks rather good (shading, colors, detailing, etc), so it's off-putting that one of the more basic steps was so terribly mangled.
Also: It's time to go bust-up some Panzers.

Yeah, it does look that way now that you mention it. I wonder if people would buy such a thing if it were a real product.
"CAPTAIN AMERICA- PROTECTING YOUR FOOD FROM THE EVILS OF ROOM TEMPERATURE!"
Except the rest of him is still too scary and I wouldn't want him in my kitchen even if he was on my side of the food cooling battle.

In fairness, the issue or two of Youngblood that I have lying around don't have glaring perspective problems and are otherwise pretty well drawn.Well, it's Liefield.
The writing is atrocious, but what's one to expect from an old Image Comics line?
