In order to have "french blood" you'd have to be a second or third generation french american at most; after that the family would be too ingrained in the american lifestyle and any french "quirks" would not be present in the youngest generation...

HEY GUYS!! what about taking over Belgium, huh? HUH? we all agreed that it was the right thing to do. now, what do we call our soon-to-be-acquired territory? Keenland? Spacia?
we are born by orbits, molded from spheres, and shaped by lines. there is no such thing as non sequitor.

Keep ur mits of Belgium.
We have a living shield (people of the netherlands) and are not afraid to use it.
Besides, with people like me in belgium, I think you can imagine to what amount of insanity we are capable of.
And if our territory ever is handed to others we'll simply ignite a nuke and this entire place will be unlivable due to radiation.

Actually, I am a history major. Getting my Master's right now, in European history as a matter of fact. Just FYI.

Watch out, there's a generalization ahead, folks! If this OFFENDS you, don't read.

Every Keenspot thread ever made has managed to drop-kick itself into a good ol'-fashioned, pointless debate. I've dragged myself into some REALLY stupid arguments before, but to throw yourself out onto your soap box over...well...a JOKE?

It wasn't really funny (no offense, Jim North)...but still.

Whatever. This Keenspot thread hasn't had a visit from Ghastly yet, has it? Amazing!

No. It's Keenspot oriented, and - imagine that! The thread is titled "Keenspot."

That's one of the worst parts, y'know? It wasn't even meant to be really funny, just your standard France joke. A half second read, barely a speed bump in the bigger scheme of the thread, to be read and forgotten in virtually the exact same amount of time.

Pah!

Wow, from keenspot to berating Jim for telling French jokes. Talk about a derailing.

Here's an interesting article. A little long, but very well done. Highly recommended (and entertaining) reading.

Warren wrote: You couldn't be more wrong. I'm speaking of genetics, not culture. Do Irish people become less Irish because they don't live in Ireland? Of course not. Many still have the characteristic red hair and freckles. Although the genetics get more diffuse, they still exist. That is what I mean by "blood".
So what you're saying now is that people with "french" genes surrender immediately when threatened with a blunt stick?

Mmmmmm...

I resemble that remark...
Faith is what credulity becomes when it finally achieves escape velocity from the constraints of terrestrial discourse- reasonableness, internal coherence, civility, and candor. Thus, the men who commited the atrocities of September 11 were neither cowards nor lunatics of any sort, but Men of Faith- perfect faith- and this, it must finally be acknowleged, is a terrible thing to be.

It amazes me sometimes how quickly threads around here degenerate and detour.

The fact that I'm sometimes helping them do so is completely immaterial.
