Well, I was living in Cincinnati when a guy took his gun into a huge arena gunshow (Bill Goodman's Gun and Knife Show - used to be wildly popular). That much was ok - you're allowed to bring guns in.

Then he went to a stand and bought some bullets. That too is ok.

Then, he put the bullets in his gun in preparation for holding up one of the other booths. Apparently he was having some troubles getting the bullets into his gun, such was his frustration that he was cussing and swearing.

... loudly enough so that he caught the attention of the vendors.

Vendors at gun and knife shows regularly carry live weapons. It's pretty much par for the course. And at least at that time (late 80's) the security was pretty lax. About a third of attendees also had loaded firearms.

Deep in concentration and frustration, he finally got the bullets in the gun and looked up.

There were some forty guns pointed at him. The "stand off" ended peacefully.

The morale of the story?

Don't try to hold up someone at a gun and knife show. Jeez.

There was a serial killer (forgot where...my brain is like a sive) who was abducting women and stabbing them to death.

He did a grand total of two.

One wittness to the first one said she saw a light colored, late model Chevy at the scene of the abduction. The second victem lived long enough to discribe the same car to the police before she died.

Now, a few days after girl number two was found on the highway, a guy comes in, saying he had been shoved off the road and stabbed...and he had the stab wound to prove it.

This was the MO of the second victem.

However, as I was watching the forensics show, I realized there were probably three red flags as to what was really going on here.

The first was the fact that he was a guy and the other two were girls. Serial killings are a fantasy crime...and the killers are almost married to the fantasy. They're not going to knife a guy if they wanted a girl.

The second was his discription of the vehicle itself...Light colored, late model Chevy...with a spinning light on the dash. Think about vic number two...a dying woman. She wouldn't have said "light color, late model" ect. She would have said "police car". You see a flashing light on a compact, you think police, right? Not light color ectera.

The third was that this male vic happened to own a beige, late model Chevrolet.

Yep, boys and girls. Our serial killer has stabbed himself in the back because he KNEW the police were on to him.

Best thing is...the police were nowhere near him. He could have kept going and kept going...especially because his crime scene was mobile (the Chevy)

But he's behind bars...because he got stupid.

How about the one that tried to rob a bank, but the cashier locked the window with emergency button, and then he tried to escape, but he was pulling the door, instead of pushing, and he thought he was locked in, but some old lady entered and that's how he escaped, ever seen that?
You are the Non. You must go now, and never return."

"1.Scan in high res 2.tweak with curves, levels or something to clean up the scan (or use channel mixer to remove blue pencil lines) 3.Add colour using a layer set to multiply. 4.Add wordbubbles and text as vector shapes. 5. Merge all layers. 6.resize to the web size. 7. Export/Save for Web" that's all I know about webcomicking.

Or how about that plane-hijacker who pulled a gun to the pilot and demanded:
"Take me to Brussels!!"

To which the pilot responded,

"But we are going to Brussels."

"Oh."

And he quietly went back to his seat.

I heard that one in version of guys trying to enter the store to rob it.

You know about the one where a robber gave a paper with "this is a robbery" writen on it and clerk said: "Let me just get my glasses" and went to alarm the police.

There was the guy who walked into a bank, fired off one shot and screamed at the top of his lungs:

"Freeze, motherstickers. This is a f***up."

The only thing that saved the lives of the security guards is that they laughed so hard they fell over.

I have a video tape of some of the worst dumb crooks.

One of them is a bank video - a guy walks up to the drive-thru window and points a gun at the tellers. He shouts, "Give me the money!".

The tellers start to laugh and laugh. The guy looks confused for a moment and says, "What?"

They reply, "It's bulletproof glass and you're on camera!"

He looked upset then stormed off sans money. He was, not surprisingly, caught later.

I remember seeing on Fox's show "World's dumbest criminals" some guy tried to rob a bank and put a paper bag over his head. He forgot to cut out holes so he could see and breathe, needless to say he was caught pretty easily.
Fox always has these shows on, the few good stuff on fox...that and Man vs. Beast.
