Unless the dropdown menu was really slowing things down, I don't see why it had to die.
I usually keep three tabs for the CG forums, one of OT, one of GD, and the Board Index. That's usually it. If I find myself browsing my other forum, I usually open a new browser window exclusively for that and open everything else in the other one.
That's all fine and happy for you... But if I can do it all in one window, like I was before (and am still doing now), that would be about five times better.
At any rate, it's not a huge deal. If it's not a big problem to bring back, I'd like to have it.
If it was causing complications, then that's fine, just leave it out. I'll live.
Well in phpBB2 I used a trick to make the drop down always display category 1 and 3. Unfortunately phpBB3 removes categories entirely so leaving the dropdown results in every page taking extra time. I can probably fix this, but it's not quite as simple as before. Similar to the games forum, the changes I used in phpBB2 DO NOT WORK at all and I may have to resort to adding additional code just for it.
Firefox, and recently Internet Explorer as well, allow you to open more than one window (called tab) in your browser window, thus avoiding cluttering up your task bar.
Damn, Duff, get with the times, man!
Existence is a series of catastrophes through which everything barely but continually survives.

Ah
Well it's no big deal - like I said, I just wondered.
