Dammit, I'm still in the lake.
How do I go about finding the correct lat&long, if that other site didn't work?
I'm in Andorra... and I'm pretty sure the lat and long were correct . Oh, I know...

For anyone who needs a better lat/long go to
http://maps.google.com/ and locate your home. You can do this by using the search bar or searching manually. Once you have found your home you must then double click on it to centre the map on your home.
Then click on link to this page. You will get something like this:
Code: Select all
http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=41.574361,-102.480469&spn=42.973415,82.995117&hl=en
The bit you are interested in is the ll=41.574361,-102.480469 bit. This is the latitude and longitude for your home.

interesting... I got 37.7646,-122.4719, but with more significant digits. I really don't want such precise coordinates to my home given out

Well, I'm not 100% happy about letting random people on the internet know exactly where I live - particularly since the imagry for Perth is exceptionally good for some reason - but here's my local shopping centre.

Edit: I heard that, if you work at Google, you get one day a week to work on whatever fun little pet project you like. This is, apparently, why we get things like this.
Editedit: Heh. Whoops. Had the wrong coordinates. Sorry.

Ah, I see. I should have had -78 before. Maybe now at least I won't be in the water.
Those are coords for the major intersection near my house, btw.

WOW! My lon-lat put me right on the street of a friend of mine who comes on here some times, Vana.
I'm glad 90's style forum signatures don't exist anymore.
