Actually, if you go back through that thread and start from the beginning...I'm the one who first brought up that phrase. I said 'shit finds it's level' and four or five posts down he came out with that and everything went from there...He didn't respond when I suggested that he'd just said the same thing as me...dunno why...

That wasn't necessary. I don't know if he will ever be back to Keenspace, and those who like me enjoy his talk when he's not involved in a flame war knows where to find him anyway. So go back to living your life, dude. Bill is trying to live his.

I'm good. I'm done. No worries.

Also although the insult is indirect I don't mean it to anyone that does enjoy what he writes.

Let's let the sun set on this topic. I'm sure mimo didn't start this thread in order to give us who don't enjoy William G very much a place to gripe about him.

Aye. Kicking a man when he's down is not very becoming, regardless of how much you may dislike him on a personal level.

You are right

I'm kind of miffed that this topic degenerated into an insult-fest. I don't agree with William's opinions all the time, and can understand why some of you aren't on the best terms with him; but I think he is a very entertaining writer and I admire that he kept up with it ('til the present) despite all the negative feedback he seemed to gather.

All I wanted to know was if anyone new why his blog had been deleted.

Well, maybe we can turn it around? I'm sure there's something good about Will that I missed while I was away. I'd much rather see him praised than burned absentia.

Actually, I've noticed that William G and I tend to have very similar observations and opinions on a lot of things. The difference between us is probably that he's far far far more inflammatory than I am, and has far more guts that I do to speak his mind. Sometimes too much. He can make very good points and insightful observations when he's not involved in a flame war (and acting totally bereft of sense), though. I suspect that's why mimo (and a few others) read his blog, if I'm not mistaken.

It's a pity he has a very bad habit of picking fights with people and acting unreasonably, even when there is no need to do so. But then again, if he didn't do that he wouldn't be William G.

I will say I'm very much looking forward to seeing the next chapter of his comic.

You can express your opinion all you want, so long as you're not mean about it :p

Personally, he's only rubbed me the wrong way when he flamed penny arcades childs play fundraiser. I did not care for that at all....but then again, it had little to do with me, besides the games I donated.

Never read his comic, so dunno if his writing went to the crapper or not. Here's hoping his pause will let him get his confidence back though. I really hate to see any webcomic artist frustrated or struggling with their work...cause when it starts getting annoying, and stops being fun, it's just not cool.

It's all fine and dandy, but he didn't flame the PA guys. He just posted his opinions about the fundraiser on a BCX thread. When Gabe found it, instead of replying his disagreements on that thread like a normal person would do, he rambled about it on his website, even thought countless times when he did the same his somewhat avid fanbase decided to take things personal and went on to make Gabe's POV's theirs.

So there is no way Gabe couldn't predict that what would soon follow was a parade of threads and posts by PA fans stating how much Bill sucks, how he is a fag and so on, until eventually BCX got wanged. There is no way Gabe couldn't predict that, and if you ask what I think, maybe that's exactly what he wanted.

So if anything, Gabe flamed Bill and not the other way around.
