Which of us were objectionable towards adult content? All of us were more-or-less objectionable to comics that we weren't sure were ready to be on Keenspot yet. I've always felt there was a certain level of professionalism that should go along with being spotted. Sadly, that wasn't always the case.

And for the record, I would have had no problem with Sexy Losers but have have always been against association with LWIBH.

Hey, thanks, Uncle Ghastly ;)

At one point, months ago (november maybe?), I wrote an email to Keenspot, to the address their provide on their website to plug my comic with them. It was because one of them (or maybe a guy who had just been spotted) wrote on these forums that the correct procedure was to apply (I thought the correct procedure was to do nothing). Anyway, I didn't get any answer, not even a "fuck off" reply, so I felt very silly - a bit like someone who emailed Tom Cruise to tell him that he's, like, totally cute.

Today, though, I'm glad that they never answered. Being indipendent is awesome. Let me state that again. AWESOME. Profitable too, although you'd need to be bigger than CNN before you get a limo full of prostitutes for your webcomicking efforts.

However, I think that it would be polite to answer a routine "no thank you" to applications, when you post an email on your website for them. Alternatively, possibly a small disclaimer saying that an answer is not guaranteed. (See, I'm still feeling stupid and hurt for emailing and never getting an answer :p)

Syndicates and comic studios have the habit of replying to applications with comments on how to improve your work and encouragement to try again. But KeenSpot is made of four guys, and maybe they haven't got enough time in their day to dedicate into that sort of thing.
I'm just a do... No, wait, I'm your worst nightmare...

Then we got something in common. Cause I totally did E-mail Tom.

I dunno about Devil's Panties (been meaning to check it out, but haven't for one reason or another), but Geebas on Parade is generally only updated in spurts. I would've figured the fact that sometimes a few months will go bare between a few weeks of regular updates might have stalled them a little bit.

Not to say that Geebas isn't deserving though . . . damn fine comic, that one is.

I know Devils Panties was on the Daily Grind... actually, I think it's still in the running.

Damn, I missed this thread as well. That limo full of hookers kept me occupied longer than I anticipated. Of course now my nethers burn and itch like hell but my puddin's are a smiling (and oozing at the same time. . . that can't be good).

It'd be cool if Keenspot spotted a few sprite comics or photo comics - I mean good ones.
Anyway, I don't think it'll ever be a problem recruiting new comics for Spot. A lot of people still see it as a kind of pantheon of comics - you know, they were the top when these guys started so they grew to see it as a final goal of a webcomicker. Hm, perhaps now Van Douchebag has a chance?

Note for Melonpool:
This is hardly related, but you seem like a cool guy. :)

I'd love to see Legostar Galactica and the Noob spotted, since their shoot to the first page of the guide has to mean something...

Oh I'm not posting that again and to be fair, like I said, some of the most rabid on the subject have since removed themselves from the equation.

Might be that a lot of comics with no chance in hell of being Spotted (i.e. ones with authors who think their comics are way, WAY better than they really are) that they just got fed up with it and don't even politely decline the comics that are genuinely good like The Noob.
